DC2 Integra Type R 2013 update

Morning all
It's been a while since I've updated you on the progress of my DC2.
My first thread was here when I got the car

I had fallen out of love ever so slightly with the DC2 during march time, but I began to remember why exactly I wanted a DC2. I'm very much a child of Gran Turismo, growing up that game was my child minder, and I loved DC2s.
But Honda DC2's on that game didn't look like this:

Which got me thinking... how can I do that?
The answer is, not without difficulty, but it's possible.
I would need
I feared it would be a right job to get that done, with bills into the thousands.
But an eBay bargain and a trip to Durham later...
It wasn't in the best condition, but it was complete, and was in my colour, all for barely 3 figures. Absolute bargain!
I read and I read and I read about the JDM conversion to make sure I did it right.
I decided to give the headlights a quick buff first.
Malton Specialist cars Easter Big Breakfast meet was to be the last outing for my UK looking Integra.
This was how it looked towards the end of its life, I ditched the coilovers, fitted 96 spec Sprint alloys, and painted the calipers Type R red
On my return, I got to work:
I had already removed the radiator support and bumper support from the JDM and given them each a coat of hammerite (gloss white and black)
No idea why I didn't take an after picture of the radiator support :lol:
I didn't take any pics of us cutting the old T piece off, but here are a few of my good mate welding the new one on
Done
Bumper bar on
Test fitted the bumper
All was well, now was the next only challenging part - wiring the lights.
It ended up being a doddle!
Last job was the bonnet
Now in that picture I didn't get the alignment right, it's better now, but still not perfect. I'll have to keep fiddling
Now to recap, before and after:

So JDM!
Now I decided to give the paint a buff as it was looking a bit dull next to my recently detailed doors
the paint was pretty filthy but I got it back up to scratch with my rotary
It's hard to photograph white paint, but hopefully you can see the line between old and new
After that came the wax, FK1000p, 1 coat left to cure for 20 minutes

The next day before driving the car I fitted a different exhaust system.
This time I've gone for JDM front pipe, DC sports centre, and OEM backbox. Sounds so quiet compared to the buddyclub :lol:
I didn't take any pics of that work though
But after doing so I went on a little drive and took some pics of the car as it stands
I edited these on my PC, and they've come out rather dark, I'm pretty sure my monitor at home needs calibrating

Quite a busy weekend I had!
and just last weekend I finished repainting my JDM 98 specs I bought that were a bit tatty.
Primed
Painted
Finished!
All laid out ready to fit.
Fitted and washed:
This was all in preperation for a Honda meet I was going to, which was probably the biggest Honda meet I've been to! Also going to Japfest next month at Castle Combe

Initial turn in is softer and you get more body roll for sure, BUT I have much more confidence on B roads with it due to it not being so close to the ground. I have to say I much prefer the new jdm front. How does it drive now with stock suspension?I was getting uneven tyre wear due to camber too on my old suspension so I would say I'm happy to be back on OEM!

A mate of mine has a 240bhp Yellow one. I love it.

Indeed it has, ahhh gotta love Gran Turismo. It shames me to admit that my first go on 5 was at the weekend at Mercedes Benz World. Kinda moved on to Forza...Awesome car
A lot of work has gone in to it but it's worth it to look out of the window at work and see it sat there waiting for me
