Formula 27 Kit car with bike engine - video edit and photos
Discussion
Just thought I'd share a couple of photos and video of my Formula 27 bike engined kit car.
It was factory built, and has an 1100cc Honda Blackbird engine. It weight 480kg with a full tank and is around 180bhp
I had a load of video footage of driving it sitting on my computer so did a quick edit of it all. It's got a bit of everything, from driving in snow, track days, bits falling off, gurning passengers and some sideways action
Hope you enjoy it

Cheers - I had had the wheels balanced at a local garage the day before, and the mechanic hadn't tightened the wheel nuts on that wheel.
There was no warning, just a bang and I see the wheel rolling along next to me. I was really lucky it happened where it did, as it was on Hartside pass which has big drop offs along most of it, and I had been pressing on before hand.
I know you're meant to check wheel nuts after 100 miles, but i had only done about 50 miles, and no one really remembers to do it do they?

Nice, I think I remember your original wheel falling off video.
Have you ever managed side by side comparisons against a Blackbird? - be interesting to see what the gap is.
I haven't actually, don't know anyone who has one, but would be interesting. I guess the bike would be better in a straight line and the car would be able to corner quicker. Have you ever managed side by side comparisons against a Blackbird? - be interesting to see what the gap is.
Is that first clip of the car in the video taken at a Fastlane show in Corbridge? Amazing car btw.
Just watched the full vid, brilliant effort. Loads of great shots in there, I particularly liked the bit at the end with what I presume was one of those flying drone things. I recognised a few of the locations too, as I always say, the most exciting thing about going to Brocksbushes is getting to drive through a tunnel afterwards.
The green Elise with the gold stripes is pretty tasty too.

Cheers - yes the aerial shots were done with a 'drone' - I run a business flying and building them - www.overandabovephotography.co.ukJust watched the full vid, brilliant effort. Good spot about the Fastlane show and Brockbushes

And there are actually 2 Elises that feature in the video - an S1 and an S2 coincidentally both green with gold stripes! They are the 2 guys I mainly go out driving with.
