Hi all, I posted pictures of my Cup about a year ago but since then I have been toying around with the car to get it to the standard I want.

I bought the car in Nov 2011 from 1 mature owner from new and it was bog standard except with credit to the first owner it had a folder with every single receipt from tires to full services. This is why I wanted this Cup as I knew it had been looked after. I've always been playing around with cars and find it very therapeutic making the car mine.

Here is how he stands today. He is abit of a weapon and confuses alot of M3/Subaru drivers due to the strong power and low weight.

Looks lovely.

My old one was a standard car but always thought it would look good lowered.

The wheels are standard on the cups. Speedline Turini's

They are due a refurbishment as one wheel is starting to peel and I'm crossed between either Bright White or Bright silver. I had white on my old car and all i remember is they were a bi7ch to keep clean this said, they whole car has a white/Blue theme from engine bay to roll cage.

Great cars, love mine.
Out of interest , have you achieved that power just from the mods mentioned? Yet to have mine remapped, not sure where to take it living in the SW.

Yes this is with the mods mentioned except at the RR time it only had a panel filter on. Now it has an ITG Max on so could be either the same or 1-2 bhp more.

Cups generally make power so if yours isn't a cup, don't expect it to make as strong as power also, these F4R lumps are very wild and vary dramatically....I've seen some produce 150 bhp up to the top end of 180 bhp. Anything over 180, your looking at cams, ITB to high boost turbos which produce silly power of 350 bhp +

This is what I'm toying with at the mo....Do I turbo my Cup? It's an expensive mod though at £4,500 for the high boost kit

I loved my old cup. Had a few ''moments' with it though! Not a car you can drive fast lightly.

Out of interest why only 180 with those mods, surely should be 185+

Had a few cups now. Great cars.

They'd be even better with a supercharger.

I had a FF 182 (with both cup packs) for nearly 7 years and nigh on 50k miles and I miss it loads. I find them to be lovely little cars with a big heart (like 500 Abarths are too) and I always find found mine special. A lot of people say they're not that quick, they're not built well and they're uncomfortable but I simply don't care what those people say because it felt very quick to me and in the time I owned mine, yes there were a few problems along the way (1 x split damper, 1 x wheel bearing, 1 x washer pump, a few rattles plus usual maintenance servicing) it wasn't that bad really.

I did plenty of journeys from Herts to Devon/Cornwall, Lake District, South Coast, Cheltenham and I never found it a pain or particularly uncomfortable. In fact I found that once on the motorway it seemed to settle down, wasn't too stiff and had enough poke without having to change down. It was such a good all rounder with decent fuel economy i.e a genuine brim to brim 38-39 mpg on the long journeys

I guess that whilst I love all cars, I can't honestly relate to Ferraris (despite being driven in a few), Lambos nor expensive Audis and personally, I would much rather read about a car like this owned by a chap like you who has put a lot of blood, sweat and tears in.

It's lovely by the way! In fact I'm jealous as I'd love another 172/182.

Everyone knows a 172 Cup would destroy the lot of them in the twisties.

Lovely example that, always loved the blue cups. How do you find the coilovers? My 172 is on standard dampers but cooksport springs which are very impressive, reasonably low but with a supple ride. I absolutely love mine as well, it puts a huge smile on my face and as a bonus it's very cheap to run too as a daily driver. I intend to keep it until it dies!
