Hi all,
First off, a brief history of my previous cars.
2001 Vauxhall Astra Coupe Turbo
Mods:
Cat back Powerflow exhaust
Induction kit
A fantastic car that was great on insurance and consumption but still had 200bhp available. The original owner ticked every options box so she had red leather, sunroof, cruise control and heated seat.
1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T
Just brutal. Fast, noisy, drank more than my ex girlfriend and would go sideways with the slightest push.

Then, having been single for a year, I got a new girlfriend. This meant my miles went up from 100 a week to 250 or so due to us spending most nights at her house. After a financial evaluation it was seen that the source of my money problems stemed from running my pride and joy. It was either the car or the girlfriend. The car lost.
This is what I bought:
I managed to use it for a year. To be fair, it did exacly what I asked of it and cost me next to nothing to run. In September my lease came to an end so me and my girlfriend are now living together. This means a hell of a lot less miles. I was given my girlfriend's blessing and went hunting for something fun.
I'd originally looked at EK4s before buying my DC2 and once again found myself being tempted by them. After a few months of hunting, Jordan 460 popped up. It seemed to fit the bill really well, low miles, good paint and with a few mods. Fast forward a week and I'd been for a test drive and put a deposit down on the lowest car I've ever been in.
Here was the spec:

EK9'd Headlights
EK9 Rear Lights

Skunk 2 LCAs
Red Accord Type R seats fitted to EK9 Rails

The first thing I did was get her booked in at my local garage. They've always worked on my cars and were keen to see me back in something with a bit of poke. About 2 hours after dropping her off I got a phonecall telling me to go round and have a look at what they had found. When I arrived I was presented with 2 pages worth of work that they could do on the car. The 4 major ones were:
Front nearside wheel bearing was kaput
Rear nearside caliper was pissing fluid
Exhaust had been mutilated due to the height
Service as there was very little oil left and it was black
They repaired the above and then MOT'd her along with raising her up about an inch and a half and tightening the throttle cable. I also found out she's been decated too.
So this is how she stood:
The PH smiliey was added, along with Spoon socks.
I replaced the 'San Miguel' solenoid cover with a 'Kalik' solenoid cover (a small nod to my girlfriend's parents as they live out in the Bahamas).
The exhaust was so loud it was obscene, it also looked quite ridiculous as it was angled upwards. A Spoon N1 b pipe and rear silencer was ordered and fitted along with new rad and oil caps. The guys at Spoon Sports even threw in a free t-shirt and tax disc holder:
On Monday I managed to set off my neighbours car alarm when leaving for work at 6.15am. When I got to work I got in touch with the guys at Spoon Sports and ordered a resonance reducer for the mornings when I leave at silly o'clock. I also ordered a new gear knob to replace the EK9 one that was previously fitted:

Replace the wheels as I don't think they suit, and they are curbed to hell!

I can't really judge the new ride height from those photos, but it definitely looks too low in the pictures from when you bought it. Cars need a little spring in their step for UK roads I reckon, we've got too many duff surfaces and odd cambers to have LMP1 style ride height!
It was ridiculously low when I bought her, she was constantly scraping on the road. There was only 1.5cm clearance between the road and the exhaust. Now that I've got the new system installed and had the car raised there is about 4.5cm clearance. I'm planning on buying 16" wheels as that should help lift the car a bit more again.mrtwisty said:

At first I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever seen. After a few weeks of driving with it my view has completely changed. It gives a 170 degree view behind you which I find myself using a lot.
Nice Civic. Do you have any photos of the modified Buddy Club before you took it off? I love the big Jap can look on a Civic. That said, a Spoon is a worthy replacement I'm not a fan of the Spoon B pipe.
The wheels look nice, just need a refurb to cover the kerb marks. Very tidy car though. What BHP do you think it's making? And do you have any photos of the instrument cluster?

They make 160bhp standard (from memory)and I wouldn't expect her to be much over that.
No interior photos at the moment! I'm giving her a deep clean on Thursday and Friday so will take proper photos then!
