hi just thought id start a thread, showing my love for the mk2 mr2, it started off when i was 18, my older brother had a rev 1 n/a red t-bar, it had been in his garage for 7 years, i had no idea, he came out of the blue one day and asked if i wanted it before he scrapped it, hmm free car...ok.

3 days later i was helping him remove the crap out the garage, i swore he said there was a mr2 in there!!, eventually i stared seeing red(pink) panels, trust me the car was buried!!
well tyres had flat spots, full of dust , more pink than red..i just smiled - this was the begging.

pumped tyres up to get it out, on the back of trailer and to my house, my mechinical knowledge was limited to a 1.6 8v polo mwhaha!
so i started the basics, drained, all old oil, fuel, coolant, replaced everything, cranked it by hand for a first couple of times, then key start and....boom it sprang into life - i couldnt stop smiling.
black one and red one toghether

i had it about a year - sold it my mate, i then got a black rev 3 turbo- bad move, wiring loom was butchered, it was a mess, i tryed my best to get it going properly, it lived for 2 weeks then the piston detached itself from the rod! - lesson learned not to jump at any car!!!

well my itch continued i thought another turbo, but i had a niggling feeling, to get a n/a , well 450 later and a slipping clutch this rev 2 n/a was mine

old rev 3 turbo next to it

changed wheels from my rev to this one

spoiler and engine lid changed to black

driving round like that for 7 months... i was bored.. i was dropping a 3sgte in there..oh yeh

meet mr donor

stock rev 1 with 62,000 on i was happy for sum of a grand - made my money back by breaking what was left

WHAT RAIN haha

out

out with the old

old rev 2 n/a

the 3sgte

its in

getting there

rain tray sprayed

bye bye

lol

with a st, and the r6 quad we built

well 7 months of trouble free motoring then came the hose from hell, behind turbo it split ...sigh
hfh

yes i found it easier to take engine out then doing it in situ, plus i put a berk de-cat on wink

all done

well its been 3 months since it went back in and its fine smile woo, anyway thanks for reading and i hope you enjoyed

Enjoyed reading that, I've had a soft spot for the MK2 MR2 for years now and am seriously looking at a N/A for my first car

Love the way the black spoiler looks on the blue car, nice one

Sorry to be a complete MR2 bore, but the black one here:

Doesn't look like a Rev 3 to me, unless it's had the old lights and spoiler grafted on. Looks more like a Rev 1/2.
