This is my first taste of flat four goodness, picked up yesterday in London, overnight ferry back to Belfast last night.

My perception may be somewhat skewed given I've been rocking in a 4x4 the past few months, but what a laugh it is to drive.

Never even driven an Impreza until yesterday and it's like driving a match box car. From the completely obnoxious bonnet scoop to the giggle inducing acceleration (330bhp, not much by the standards of some on here but eats 1st-3rd as fast as I can feed them to it) not to mention the burble from the exhaust (oh the burble...)

Over the moon, easily the most fun car I've ever driven. Can't believe I put off getting one, I now completely get why they're loved so much.

The sheer noise of it will take some getting used to though. This is coming from a V8 too, and a BMW 6 cylinder with a sports exhaust before that. Kind of trying to sink below the wheel as everyone in the street turns, from kids staring in awe to the elderly grimacing even as I try to trundle along with minimal accelerator action and 1500rpm... Not exactly easy to blend in either hehe

Love the blobeye, best looking Impreza since the 22B IMHO.

What are your plans for it? Track days? Any tuning? 330 might seem a lot now but you'll get used to it really quickly!

No it's the last of the 2.0L.

Tuning I'm hoping to avoid for now. I purposely avoided the wrx because I knew I'd just spend money turning it into an STI, then this came up and figured it would save me fiddling with it further...

It's my daily so don't want to compromise too much. Ditto with the suspension, I normally lower or try to tighten up anything I drive but this already handles like it's on rails.

What a great looking car, it must be a riot to drive. What sort of exhaust is on there?

Don't think it's a wide track, can't see the 'extended' arches on the rear. Happy to be proven wrong though.

looks a steal and those wheels are perfect for it. Enjoy!

Edit - Ved you edited your post now it looks like i'm talking to myself about widetracks!

Nice mate, I had the same as you but white with black wheels! 330bhp... take it you've got the PPP? I sold mine after a year though as found the running costs where way too ott for me.

Nope no widetrack on this one. Coming from a V8 Grand Cherokee so running costs aren't terribly high on the priorities list smile
