Lotus 2 Eleven
Discussion
After my posting requesting helping choosing my next car...
Current car was a R35 GTR

A fantastic car and was in the same league as 599's, 458's, Lambo's etc
Handles and accelerates with vigour up past legal speeds
Supercar performance comes with supercar bills
I now wanted something more track focused,so the decision was made to get rid of the GTR and Tracked prepared Mk2 MR2 is going (plug if anyone is interested ;-)
The choice was the usual suspects, X-Bow, R500/400/300, Atom, 2 Eleven, Exige S, Noble
Thanks Rob M - the ride in the Eleven blew me away and choice was made
Roll on 25.5.13
Early start, essential to remember to pack my helmet !
Fast forward 2.5 hours now in Leeds to pick up the car
Fast forward 4 hours and back in London after 205 miles.
Must have encountered 1,000's of flies - helmet and front of the car shows the battle

First impressions, steering is super and handles on a penny - looking forward to hitting every apex each and every lap.
Instant S/C power on tap at almost any RPM
Buffeting at m/w speeds is not to bad and the body / roll cage give a sense of security
Front lip is low and country lanes, humps etc can be an issue.
All then attention from road users is positive - good job its orange
Good night sleep well car - thanks to my outdoor Carcoon (really is a 5 min job)

Did 10 passenger laps in one of these a while back at Cadwell Park, it really was an astounding piece of kit.
Having never been in such a vehicle before the grip and braking ability of it was incredible (compared to normal road cars).
Guy that owned it was a very nice chap and even tho he was not going at it 100% the car certainly showed how capable it was.
Would love to own one - enjoy it!
Cheers

You swapped an R35 GT-R for that hideous bag of bolts
Not for me I'm afraid but enjoy.
Well it comes down to what you want the car to do, OP said

I'd much rather use a 2 Eleven as a track toy than a GTR, much more involving and much cheaper to run too. I think it's a cracking car!Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
