My new Audi A3 1.8T

So picked this up the other day, was a 10 hour round trip due to traffic around heathrow ( should of been 4!)
Had been looking at getting a variety of different cars but this seemed to tick all the boxes, isn't a very ph car with little steering feel etc but is definitely best car I've owned so far ( 5th car at 21 ). Tried not to be impulsive with buying a car but this had 1 owner and been serviced twice a year since new so jumped on it. Mileage is High at 75000 but don't think miles too important with these engines.

How does this engine differ from the mk5 golf gti of the same era? Still TFSI?
I have a mj4 golf 1.8t but assuming its a later design lump?

Only been a passenger in a golf with similiar engine but it does pull well for the power it has. I think the 1.8 tfsi is a later model then the 2.0 which I considered but thought might be a bit too thirsty.mecen though I can see myself getting a remap in the future which will bring it up to 220 bhp. Will take a interior shot soon !

I also bought one of these just after my 21st last year. What sort of MPG do you get out of the 1.8T? Mines the 2.0T but it would be interesting to see if there's much difference. Think mine might even be the same colour as yours.

On a sensible long distance drive I get about 38? Just drove to Cornwall from brighton in 3 and a half hours, so was a bit heavy on the right foot and got 30mpg.. What do you get?

Usually between 28-32mpg on my daily (Guildford to NW London) commute. Though drove at 56 all the way home once managed 52mpg, was so proud I had to get photo evidence! Did you go for a DSG or manual by the way?

Do these come with the newer 1.8TFSI or the original (classic flavour?) 1.8T a la BAM, AMK, AUQ etc.?

If it's the older version then miles shouldn't be a problem. Mine has 82,000 after 10 years and is still sweet as a nut.

Although I see no reason why a TFSI shouldn't be reliable.

Has the later tfsi engine. Really nice to drive. Bit effortless and uninvolving but a great way to cover ground quickly and comfortably.

Anyone had any experience with mapping any cars? Good / bad?
