Pug 205 bike engine rwd
Discussion
Well I bought a half finished project like you do and have been busy sorting it out
I bought a pug 205 that at some point in it life has had a mk2 escort axle bolted on the rear,
The guy befor me had put a honda blackbird (carbed) engine on the front with a one off prop to the rear.
I have since created a gear leaver and linkage, a bracket for the clutch slave cylinder and a pipe to suit, made a wiring loom and fit some clocks, for the oil cooler, fit a radiator
Fixed the rear brakes,
Got the thing to run and drive them had to sort out a hesitation / spitting back through the carbs at 5000rpm, sorted all that and had its 1st drive. And it goes well,
Here's a few pics

Not to sure, not much as me and my mate can pic the front end off the ground and we are both small (5ft 7 and 10 stone) and on its 1st test drive running full power was spinning up in 1st 2nd and 3rd and bouncing around on the rear for some reason ( think the suspension is to hard.
And it felt like it was trying to pull a wheelie.
A standard 1.9 gti weighs about 850kg
This will be going on a massive wight loss diet, all exsitsting wiring removed ect, Perspex windows tilit style seats ect
Should be making around 150bhp at the engine, it will be going for tuning soon on a rolling road

whats the point
Because its different and it ticked all the boxes,I wanted a 205 gti, got a 205 body, but I also wanted a mk2 escort, for the handling, got a rear axle,
Wanted a motorbike for Sumer, got an engine from one,
And I have not seen another one, ( I'm not saying there not out there) and pound for pound will put a massive
on my face driving it and should be very fast and fun for the money.i'd be interested in how it deals with clutches...... the smart fortwo engined ones eat clutches ....... but look like great fun!!

Haha believe me when I say it'll handle nothing like a mk2 Escort , but best of luck with it .I wanted a 205 gti, got a 205 body, but I also wanted a mk2 escort, for the handling, got a rear axle,

What's the point of you posting? All you do is slate others vehicles.Go look in the mirror, only thing you seem to approve of,
.That aside, I like the concept and it'll be a lot of fun when it's finished.
When you get bored, you can always bolt on a turbocharged hyabusa lump
