Hello folks.
Picked this up in January this year, after nearly 6 years with my first car! Absolutely loved my Punto but it was starting to go wrong on a bi-monthly basis, and in a very expensive way. So decided it wasn't worth chucking money at it and the hunt started for a new (to me) car.
Looked at various options, but knew I wanted to stick with petrol (only do 6000ish miles a year so doesn't justify diesel really), preferably 3 door, preferably sporty-ish, and bigger than the Punto - when I was driving it, nobody fitted behind me at 6ft 3 and not exactly svelte!
Narrowed down the options to the usual suspects in the market - Astra, Golf, Megane, Focus. Then saw one of these Civics parked up on the street on my way to uni. I had forgotten about them, or thought they were out of my preferred budget range, but had a serious think and decided to extend my budget and try to get something newer, rather than looking at cars that were 6 to 7 years old.
That led to picking this up from a dealer in Banchory in January. 1.8 Type S GT, 2 and a half years old, 14k miles, 1 owner. Back had never been sat in.
Having now had it for getting on 6 months I absolutely love it. It's so much quicker than my old Punto - it may only be 140bhp but when you've been used to 60bhp it seems like a huge amount! Whole car feels nicely judged, sporty without being wearing or getting ragged when you push on. Averaging about 36mpg out of it which I'm very pleased with, as that's about 2/3rds town driving and 1/3rd A and B roads. Huge amount of space inside, enormous boot, lots of niceties (dual zone climate, panoramic roof, half-Alcantara seats). No plans to modify it or anything, my insurance, while reasonable, is still fairly expensive due to having not much no-claims, and I'd rather wait until I finish my studies before I start thinking about spending any money on it! But very, very happy with it for the moment

Khevolution - Paid £10.5k for it, which was a bit more than some others on the market but the condition inside and out really justified spending that bit extra.
Amit - had a look at the grille and it would probably be relatively easy to remove the badge, but I'm quite spectacularly ham-fisted so I'm just going to leave it where it is for now!
It's also lovely having a car with air con for the first time! Given it reached the heady heights of 24C in Glasgow today I could actually justify using it
