Elise Series 2

Just a few pics from Prescott. My dad is a photographer there for BOC, VSCC and the club generally so on a quiet day we had a bit of time to ourselves.

Ultimately the plans are as follows:
- Exige S2 Y shape wheels
- S2 Exige bodywork
- Honda K20a on Jenvey TB's

The car only has 30k miles on it and I did a lot of remedial work last year to bring the car up to a good standard and the spec currently is:

- Quantum Zero's
- Fresh set of AD07's
- Top Gear reworked head, MLS gasket and all the required work to sort HGF
- PRRT
- EBC Yellow stuff pads and ultimax discs
- 2Bular exhaust and decat
- KV85 Magnecor leads
- EP eliminator 3 piece diffuser kit

I'm sure there's more.

Thanks, I copied and paste from SELOC so no idea why it won't work. I'll try editing now.

I'm not 100% sure that the image tags can be appended with the resolution on PH, either that or the photobucket URL needs to be the image itself rather than the frame page with the image in the centre.

Car looks lovely though

Do you have to worry about the rear camber arms on these later ones?

It's more of an issue with S1's than S2's but Elise Parts/shop offer a solution for pretty much every issue to have cropped up over the years.

Get your fat ass back to the garage then!

Ahh, that's good. Something focussed like the Elise appeals to me more and more each day. I love the TVR's but the Elise is probably a safer bet.

I hope to get some 'garage time' this weekend, though it's more likely to be spent with the M3

It's been months since I updated this.

Still got the little urchin.

It's had new boots (AD07's again) and some little jobs doing like a leaky thermostat and running a cool air pipe to the alternator. I put a 52mm throttle body on as well.

How's it been? Yeah not bad really. Sadly a couple of bubbles have appeared in the paint which is a shame but overall it's fine still.

It's still low mileage at 33k miles in 12 years which is good going.. Or bad going depending on how you look at it. On the plus side it's off to the Nurburgring in June with some mates. Photos will be taken and gopro footage uploaded.

Would I, will I change anything? Well yeah. It's probably around 135bhp now and urgent but not fast. What I need to do is decide whether it would be good to have a good base and honda the car or choose a manky rough look S1 and honda that with a Motorsport body.

For now though the little blue bd is staying.

Very nice OP,

Would love another Elise, such good cars.

Good luck if you go down the K20 route. The best engine I have owned teamed to the best chassis.

So it's been a long time since this was updated. Under the skin not a lot has changed but I grew bored of a standard looking S2 and wanted it to look more aggressive.

Sure it may have hurt it's value a little, who knows. I love the way it looks now though,

Had a great trip to the ring last week and although it ended on a recovery truck due to a dodgy MAP sensor I'd go back tomorrow.

First up I changed the hurricane induction kit that was on there for a custom home made ITG maxogen kit as I felt it could be better designed.

Now running Exige wheels, I've striped the car myself using Matt vinyl for the centre stripe and gloss for the outer stripes. I also modified the original number plate plinth to mimic the 211 plinth.





I also changed the sticker rear lotus badging for an Evora raised plastic badge set which looks much better quality,



The morning of the ring trip.




If you've been to the ring you've probably been here (Pinocchio).





Car of the trip for me. It was hooning about the ring every day. Sounded and looked immense.

Erm, me on track...



Sadly due to a MAP sensor nuking itself this is where it ended. I've got good euro breakdown who kindly put me up in Cochem for the night and flew me home the next day. Just need to repatriate the car now!

The car aside from the sensor runs amazingly well and just went through its third faultless MOT. Now on 33k miles.

No way! These things happen. I serviced the car before we left and it was great. Sensors just die so no point in being miserable about it
