Please ignore some of the words used, these bits are taken from other forums smile

When I bought it MOST the engine mods you see today were already fitted. It has also had a full engine redoing with ALL the receipts which I was well happy with when I bought it. It has everything, service history to a certain extent and the last owner had it for 7-8 years and it was well looked after as I could see!

When I bought the car it had some daft Devil 18" wheels on front (which are for sale if anyone is interested) and standard 16" on the rear. Both full sets came with the car. This was the first thing I wanted to change as it ruined the look of the car. Also, although the engine was heavily seen to, the running gear wasn't touched at all.

So immediately upon purchase I was called offshore, que the spending!

- Brand New HSD HR Coilovers
- R33 GTST Front brakes
- Multiple adjustable arms/rods

And here were the wheels I bought as you see on the car, Enkei GTA staggered 8J + 9J:

Then the first picture with the wheels on the car, and only the front coilovers fitted:

And I have also bought 3x Compomotive MO6s (looking for a 4th), for either track wheels or drifting  :

So had a wee busy day playing around with the coilovers today. God I hate doing it without a ramp... Especially when the jack gets stuck under because it was too low for it... Need a ramp in my life!!

Anyway many blocks of wood later:

I had lowered it too much at a start, now I think I have it just perfect. It will do until corner weighting anyway as I can still get out of my drive smile!

And onto the rolling road day!

My first 2 runs I ran at 70% boost on my Blitz controller (~17psi) as I have been having problem with anything above that.

On these runs the car ran very well, making 287bhp at the flywheel and 295lbft of torque.

[GRAPH TO FOLLOW]

My 2nd 2 runs I asked to see what was happening above 70%. So we put it up to 100% but boost was all over the place. Finally managed to get it to settle out at 80% (~20psi) which is more than enough I would say really for a standard engine...

The car didn't run so well in these, at 4500rpm it started going lean so the run was stopped. It made the same bhp figure as before, but torque was up to 320lbft.

[GRAPH TO FOLLOW]

And here's the video I have uploaded from the 1st 2 runs:

So the brakes have always been a low point about this car, so I have decided to give them a proper going over and see if I can get this set-up working well.

So first of all as with working with brakes, I went and changed out all the hard pipework as it isn't hard to do, and it means less hassle rounding off old unions etc...

And then to refurbish the R33 GTST calipers I have fitted as the dust seals were heat cycled so often they were now no longer there. So I went and changed the seals inside and the dust seals. It was my first time doing a job like this, but it was a doddle on these calipers! Actually quite therapeutic!

And then I fitted brand new discs and pads. Managed to source these floating discs that I will give a try and see what happens with them! I also fitted Ferodo DS pads.

And that is where I am just now! I currently have all the rear alignment arms off which are being replaced with DW items, and then I will be putting Z32 rear brakes on as soon as I source the backing plates as the guy I bought them off forgot to include them..! Dammit!! One thing after another with buying things for this car!!

I also have just bought some Whiteline pineapple rings to hopefully sort out the majority of my wheel hop, which only occurs under a full launch, so hopefully this will sort that! If not, the subframe will get pollybushed.

To further update the car in this thread, I fitted all the new brakes, then a set of K-Sports came up at a decent price, so it all came off again and was replaced by these cool

K-Sport 8 pot calipers with 330mm floating discs and EBC yellow stuff pads (for now until they are shot).
And I am still in the process of fitting the rear R33 GTST brakes, having a few issues with the hubs needing a good cleaning to get the new set-up on, and then needed new ball joints, and the collets I had for the rear adjustable toe arms were the wrong size, but I'm getting there now.

I also broke my ARB drop links, so instead of just buying standard drop links, I went and bought myself some new front & rear Apex adjustable ARBs smile

A wee "in-progress" shot here:

As you can see I am not the most tidy of mechanics :P

And the last picture for now, built not bought:

Yeah I can't see myself selling this to be honest, got if far too cheap, done so much work to it myself, and it is a very good body (bits of the rear of the sill starting to get soft but this will get sorted).

Ok so a wee update here! Just taken the car down to Knockhill there just over a week ago after finally getting the rear brake conversion finished!! And all the effort was WELL worth it!! With the K-sports up front and R33 brakes on there rear, wow braking is good!! Can finally brake as late as I could in the 205 track car I had a few years ago! The car is feeling very "racey" now! smile With the alignment I got done as well since my last update, and rear anti roll bar fitted, handling is superb! Have to say though, a bit of unexpected understeer since I haven't even fitted my front anti roll bar yet..! But I think I was running my pressures a bit low... So I will wait until the next track day before I start fettling!

Anyway here is the good stuff, finally got a scanner connected to the computer after moving in so here is the rolling road print outs from donkeys ago!!

Here are the print outs from the alignment, I didn't manage to get as much rear camber as I wanted as the snapped camber bolts were just replaced with normal bolts... So I will have to go back at some point!

BEFORE (all the arms were loose and not set up at all):

AFTER:

And the best stuff in this post, some in-car videos from the track day, first one is with one of my friends in the car, this was my best session, had loads of confidence in the brakes, and really starting to motor on:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoKe-yWYSPY

And this is the session before, where I went out with the intention of getting my girlfriend screaming on cam, see for yourself:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLXFvmsqef8

And that is all!! Well after that last track day the turbo worked loose from the manifold, so I am taking that off to fit nordlock washers and tabs. And I also need to sort out my trailer so that I don't have to take the lights, bumper and intercooler off everytime I take the car down, as it is supposed to make things easier not more difficult..! haha.

And that really is all this time..!

So to give you all an update! Refitted the GT28r turbo after it working itself loose during the trackday. Took it down to the British Drift Championship at Knockhill for a demo session of the Super Lap Scotland race series that I hope to be taking part in next year! And it held up well! smile Just had ALOT of understeer as I upped the pressures for the tyres as it was only 10 laps and didn't think I would get alot of pressure in there, but I was wrong! Came off and I was seeing 38psi..! Oops!

Anyway, after fitting the turbo again, I have decided that more power is what I want smile So I have now bought this:

Brand new GT2871r turbo with .64 hot side! biggrin To go along with this I have also had a Z32 AFM in my toolbox for a good while now as I knew I would have been going for more eventually! And I just got my stage 3a chip from Horsham, so hopefully that goes well!

Whilst I have the front in the air I am also going to fit my front ARB as well, see if this helps my understeer, but I can see it just making it worse..!

And then testing it all on the 2nd at a 4 hour trackday with Trackscotland at KNockhill! smile Only problem being I am offshore until the 31st, and all this work still needs to be done!! Happy days!!

And to finish, old vs. new smile

(Would have made for a nice twin turbo set-up!)

Well I have some good news!! She lives (healthily) again!! Boom!!

I was having issues with the car having the engine light on and idling really badly, and all through the rev range was very erratic. Turns out I had fitted the Horsham chips the wrong way round... Whoops! But it runs really well now!! I haven't really had the chance to test it out fully as it is very wet just now... All I can say is it spins up a lot quicker!! Haha, LSD is a definite must! I am so glad I bought a new turbo too, spins for at least a minute after shut down!!

I have also put the Enkeis back on, I didn't realise how much heavier they are than my track wheels!! They are heafty buggers I tell ya!

But I am looking forward to getting it out in the good weather! It will need another MOT before then... Which could be entertaining with the rust at the back of my sill... Will need to get it sorted!!

So I went out today and washed all the motors! Van, Megane and the S14, took her for a wee spin too around the block since it was dry and whoa there is NO grip 1st and 2nd... Couldn't really take it out of that in a 20mph zone... Haha so I am looking for a LSD!! And I think a carbon bonnet would compliment the car quite nicely :P

Hmmm - where did you get the Enkei GTA wheels from ? I had some of those on my S14 - they are as rare as rocking horse poo...

How much have you given Bren at Apex over the years ???
