Well, the last couple of weeks have proven, shall we say interesting.

A couple of Friday's ago on the way home an engine mount or two failed on the Roadster, leaving it pretty much undrivable.

Limped home and promptly took the Impreza out as I had to go and pick my partners youngest up. Some 30 miles later the engine was knocking, sounds like the bottom end!!! frown

With the Subaru parked up in the disgrace and the Roadster out of action, I promptly did an oil and filter change on my TR7 V8 thinking it might see a few more road miles than normal. Come Monday I was heading off down the road, got about 10 miles down the road and bang!!

Another engine gone crycrycry

Think it's snapped a rod or something. Will find out later when I tear open the engine.

Can you believe it, 3 vehicles inside of 3 days.. rolleyes and the Camaro was off the road due to waiting for some special order items from the USA for an intake manifold swap I was doing.

Fast Forward a week or so, plus several trips in a borrowed 300Tdi Land Rover, a gas guzzling 3.5 V8 Land Rover and bright yellow Fiat Punto with a 1.2 litre engine.

And well the Roadster is back on the road, managed to replace all 3 engine/gearbox mounts in the end. Bit of a PITA but nothing too bad.

A bit of browsing on ebay has also acquired me a fuel injected 3.9 Rover V8 biggrin

The tear down begins!

One Rover 3.9 V8 awaiting a new home:

Minus the unneeded ZF automatic gearbox and Land Rover LT230.

The trusty, but rusty (chassis) Series III finding a use for itself as a shunting vehicle:

At last engine out beer

The old 3.5 waiting a strip down to find what went wrong, and to donate a few required parts to the 3.9

Next up will be a bit of refresh on the 3.9, swapped the needed parts over and reinstall in the car - oh and hope for the best.

The Impreza is still sitting in the front garden though, guess that'll be an engine out jobby too. wink

I've had a similar week.

1)Legacy popped head gaskets

2)mini was stolen

3) daily 206 given to brother as I didn't think I'd need it having the other two cars.

From 3 cars to using the bus in one swift week.

To be honest I'm afraid to get into any cars now. That same weekend I drove my brothers LR 90 and the steering box and front diff have gone on it. And to top it all, only a few days ago while passengering in a friends V6 Maverick the gearbox expired.

I'd checked it two days earlier and it was fine. Although after the engine starting knocking the oil level had dropped. Really hadn't done many miles inbetween either.

I'll get it sorted, just could do with more money and time hehe
