Morning.
Long time lurker - thought Id do the decent thing and introduce myself before jumping into any discussions... Manners cost nothing and all that ;-)
First car was a magnificent Mk 2 fiesta Popular Plus, followed by a Ka and a Saxo VTR. These were in the days when I was too cheap to buy a digital camera so no pictures of these...
Golf Mk2 1.8 Driver
I decided to get rid of the Saxo and buy something 'non-depreciating'. A bad idea. The Golf looked good, but was an absolute wreck... I had definitely been clocked but it was shiny and red and like an idiot, I stumped up the cash. It cost me a fortune;
Clio 172 Cup
Got rid of the Golf and bought my beloved Clio. Owned for 8 years. Tracked, thrashed, crashed and loved. I miss that car.
Megane 175
Unfortunately, the Clio started to fall apart. I persevered, but it started to cost a fortune. In the French way, everything started to fall apart at once. I decided to cut my losses. Due to a new 70 mile round trip commute, I decided to go for something fuelled by the black pump of satan. It was okay, but I never really clicked with it.
Alfa Mito QV
After a year I decided I couldnt live with the Megane. It started to go wrong way too often for such a low mileage car. Decided to cut my losses. My commute changed again - 50 miles each way, but only for 4 months of each year - the rest I do on a bike. So, I was in the market for something that could be fun, but also economical when needed - but something that wasnt a diesel. Happily for me, the new small capacity, turboed engines gave me a few options; Mini Cooper S (I have a problem with the image - they just look like they are trying too hard), DS3 (not for me), Fabia VRS (Id miss a manual) or the Mito. I know it has mixed reviews, but I love it. I love the way it looks and I love the way it drives. It will never handle as well as a Renaultsport, but.... its fun. It loves to be driven hard and the engine is superb. Its also nice to own something non-French. Im sure Ill be back, but I wanted a change...

Love the Mito QV. I've got a Giulietta JTDM TCT, I do 20,000 miles a year and I was seriously tempted by the Mito QV but it was just a bit to small for me, however I still love the 170 MA its a belter and sounds fantastic in the Mito.

I think the wheels are a bi marmite. I like them; The arches are quite flared and they are the only Mito wheels that I think fill them properly; plus with the white bodywork, I think you need a darker wheel.
On the lookout for some 16/17 for winter, so Ill see how they look...

If you can find some 17" cloverleaf wheels from in dark grey they will do you for the winter. Look out for corrosion on the 18" wheels by the way. My G has 18" with the diamond cut spokes and they do corrode quite quickly. Alfahorn said:

Turns out that Mito wheels are 4 stud - most Alfas are 5. The 17" wheels are rare as hens teeth, so I ended up going for these. Theyll keep the corrosion out of mine and I actually quite like them, which is a bonus;http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200953795314?ssPageName=...
