Track, Toy and Daily Driver. (VX220, Noble, Mazda)
Discussion
I thought I would mention my little fleet. I live on my own so it allows me to indulge in what I want without any sort if earache!
So, first off, my track car. I bought this a couple of months ago now for a bargain price of £4900. (Hopefully that will now push prices up as you all go check them out
haha). I bought it as a pure track car so i stripped a lot out of it, including the heater. New JK composite seats are in with a harness bar and harnesses.
Drive it at pembrey and it wasn't too bad but alot to come still. New wheels and tyres (R888) have gone on it so will be much better at the next track. Have a few other shiney bits to fit when I get round to it too, it already has nitron suspension. I would like to race next year in it but have no idea what series yet. I would like to supercharge it but the series I enter will dictate what I can do power wise I'm sure.
On the drive, old wheels.

So my toy car, the Noble. I bought it 2 years ago in November as a treat to myself after returning to the country after 6 months away. Its been moderately reliable but has had its issues. I have a running costs thread on vx220.org.uk about it as a few were interested. Most recent though I got Jetstream to check the engine over as it has no engine management light so you have no idea apart from listening if there's something wrong. It sounded fine. But turns out a lambda sensor had gone and had probably gone the whole time I had it, we guessed it had been running about 300bhp (350 standard). Had them take it to Trevor Jasper for a remap to unleash its full potential but to make sure it was running perfectly. It came back as 380bhp and 417ftlbs of torque. Its a completely different car to drive now. I don't want to modify it any more though!
I did track the Noble at Anglesey but feel its pretty risky, a new engine in the vx is £300, in the Noble its many many pennies.

Then my current daily driver. A Mazda 6 which I hate with a passion. I bought it to replace my Vectra which I had for 6 years as a bit of a treat to go to work and back. I do 600 miles a week so I didn't want to spend too much as the miles would kill the value. Had it since November though and hopefully getting rid of it in the next few weeks. I used it to trailer the vx220 to track too. Hoping to find a decent A4 estate to replace it with but don't want to spend more than £2k!
Anyway here it is:

So did I! But it struggles to get over 45mpg. And I've had a multitude of mechanical problems. They are all sorted now but I just want to get rid of it. I'm a mechanic so I do the servicing and work on all 3 myself.
I'm just going to put it on a 7 day auction on eBay so I look forward to being messed around haha.

Fair enough. The noble is stunning. If I was a child that would need to be a bedroom wall poster.
Cheers! I got given a couple of canvasses of it as a gift last Christmas. At the grand old age of 28 though I thought they were more appropriate in the garage than the bedroom haha.

Nice fleet, I'm jealous. Although at this precise moment in time I am the owner of a 911, a VX220 Turbo and a Clio Williams, until the 911 sells that is.
You just can't keep away can you haha!Zoobeef said:

I thought I recognized the number plate on your Noble, I sold it to one of it's previous owners in 2010.
He only had it a year or so. Nice guy.He did call me about something on it when he was selling it but I don't recall what it was.
It was a nice car too!

I've not really had any major issues. Both exhaust manifolds cracked, a lambda sensor and had to get the starter refurbished. Not massive issues when you can do the work yourself though.

Nice toys matey ; )
Love the noble. Had one for 3 years and Matt and Dave used to do a fine job of looking after her. After blowing the gearbox (early 5 speed on a GTO 3) I swapped it out for a 6spd, LSD, m400 linkage and Decatted it. Then it went to Yellowshed for some tweaking ; ) awesome fun.
Enjoy mate and stay safe.
