First engine swap: Mountfield 534SP

Just completed my first ever engine swap. Now running like a dream. If there are any Formula 1 bosses reading this I am available for any engine consultancy work. Here's a pic of my little beauty.

Also, good work OP, nothing like getting you hands dirty on oily bits, and find out the old suck-squeeze-bang-blow still works after you put it all back together right?

Absolutely. I can't remember the last time I felt so manly. Im now scanning eBay for cars that need new engines. No stopping me now!

hahaha, classic PH wishfull misreading, anyway, a 148cc two-smoke engine should still do more then 10hp, and it's more then those 125cc motorcycles new riders have to start out on these days.

True dat, my first engine job was replacing the head gasket in a tiny little fiat, took me many months (didnt have much time available, and i decided that while i had the head off i might as well swap in a high lift cam, which then meant re-shimming etc..), but having the engine fire up the first time after putting it back together was definitely one of the more glorious moments of my life (after a good hour of swearing and mucking about with HT leads mind you, turns out it was running on three cilinders not because of the headgasket, but broken plug-lead)
