Focus Saloon

Never really been a fan of the old Focus but the MK2 seems to have aged quite well

The saloon seems to be quite a nice motor but i'm not really up on prices

this one seems too cheap, no accident damage as i've ask but just seems very keenly priced

Just had a look on Autotrader, and that car looks very cheap (about £1000+ less than similar car). It could be a bargin just as easily as it could be dodgy. If it's local enough to go and view, and you are satisfied with the seller, the car's condition, and the paperwork looks clean, it would be a good buy (but go in with your eyes open).

Id be checking out the price of this vs the equivalent Focus hatch - the hatchbacks are normally a lot more desirable in the Uk I think.

That could be part of the reason why this one "seems so cheap".

Bear in mind though - its now 8 years old - something to bear in mind - cars like this seem so modern and newer then they actually are.

If its significantly cheaper then the hatch equivalent - that its potentially a nice car - just check it out like any other 2nd hand purchase.

Would the "similar car" be a Focus hatchback though - the saloon in this I would have thought - would have been very very hard to sell in the Uk*.

Over here in Ireland though - people love saloon verions of Focuses, Astras - and theres plenty of Jettas and Corolla saloons too.

But the uks always favoured hatchbacks.

If it all checks out - and is in good condition - and a good deal cheaper then the hatch - then its definitely worth a punt for the OP if hes happy with it being a Saloon.

• for example back in the days of the Mk 2 golf - im led to believe that the Jetta version was always cheaper on the 2nd hand market - in the Uk.

The "similar cars" were also saloons. Compared to other MK2 Focus saloons of a similar age, mileage, and spec, the car in the OP's link still appears underpriced.

Okay - no worries - I just thought there would be practically no Focus saloons for sale in the Uk as I thought theyd hardly have sold any in the first place.

What's that warning light on the dash?

I guess the warning light may be for the seatbelts as the engine is running in the shots. I may be wrong however. It does seem very cheap and tempting for the price but this may be down to the vehicles location. It says viewing welcome so if you live near by I would view it first and do the usual HPI checks to see if it is dodgy.

We've just had to sell my granddads car as he can't drive because of health issues, exact same spec as this one we got just under 3K for it
