Dog rough shead audi style

Well now the corrado has gone allong with the astra van (6 months ago but im just getting round to doing this post) it was time to purchase a shead for child and bike transportation use.
After spending all of about 3 min on ebay looking for the perfect family car i was bidding on this rather saggy rear ended 2.5 TDi Quatro A4 bosting arround 160,000 miles and a naughty remap.
Upon arrival it was clear the car required new tyres all round, that a dog had made the interior its home and that it had been washed with wire wool, after some careful negotiation the price was reduced and a monster wallet of receips for engine change and many other delights was handed over.
after the initial outlay for tyres i was happy with the car until the saggy arse started to get on my nerves (in the spirit of bangernomics i chose not to look at this at an earlier date)it appeared that both rear springs were snapped, £90 later and we were sat properly, happy days!!
The next week it was time for some love with the orbital polisher to get the old girl looking a bit better.....its beyond saving but its come up a bit better and of course the essential shiny new roof bars and bike racks.
6 months in to ownership and it magically ran out of electricity....turns out the altenator gave up on life....of course the whole front end of the car had to come off and ended up costing £300 but i suppose thats not too bad worked out over the 6 month point of ownership!!

Well I have to admit it was a tad more than shed money at £1500 so possibly a tad too much but that's just how it goes, I suppose I do have the benefits of Quattro, full leather etc along with a list of parts that have been replaced all with receipts as long as my arm, every key was there also.
Very little is known of the remap, claimed 190bhp and 380lb/ft, it feels and sounds like it has that but without getting in on a rr who knows......it's got a upgraded clutch as it was apparently demolishing stock clutches, it pulls very very hard in 6th from right through the rev range but to be honest iv never driven a big tdi so don't know what a stock one feels like.
Car also has a full stainless exhaust fitted that sounds very nice for an oil burner but not too loud :-)

I suspect your torque figure may be in NM? They are 230lb/ft standard.

yeah to be honest im a bit wary of how reliable it will be over a 1.9TDi however its had most things done when i go through the book, turbo replaced, abs pump replaced, timing belt done when the engine was changed, water pump replaced etc etc etc....of course the altenator was the one thing that wasnt changed and thats whats bitten me so far.
The V6 TDi is a very nice engine though, silky smoothe but very thirsty too so to be fair a 1.9 might have been a better option, will do the trick though, we have a nice car in the wifes 120d M cabby so this is just a work horse and will hopefully be used to transport beetle parts or perhaps a karman ghia if funds allow.

How come you got rid of the Corrado mate? I saw it for sale and was very, very tempted. Ironically I'm picking one up this morning, I've been bitten again.

Ah mate it turned into a complete nightmare, head cracked so i got a replacement and fitted it but it never felt right after so i decided it was time to move on.......might get another one day but for now im after something air cooled, had some contact after the sale from the new owner saying the replacement head was bad so to be honest im glad its gone, dont think i will ever get one with a body as good as that again though.That estate looks rather nice actually, perfect winter shed.
estate scrubs up ok from a distance but i have a lot of work ahead getting the paint corrected, might have to resort to wet and dry on a few pannels but we will see, goping to try some aggressive compounds on it first.

Ah, the original, and best IMO, V6 TDi from VAG.
I bought a brand new Avant like this in July 2000 for LUF 1,300,000 (~€32,200). I LOVED it.
When my first born came along in Feb 2001 we found it severely lacking in rear space, so it had to go after 32,000km and at a paper loss of €10,000.
I still see it around in Lux, but since the purchasers bought it to tow their horsebox, it looks a scratched and muddy mess now.
