New family car - 640d M Sport Gran Coupe

Mrs HH and I have swapped transport roles - her X-Trail is being replaced by an MCS Cabrio (do women get a mid-life crisis ), and my 370Z Roadster has now gone.....

...and has been replaced by this - a 640d M Sport Gran Coupe in Carbon Black with Cinnamon Dakota leather. The standard car has pretty much everything you could need, I have only added 20" alloys and a few smaller bits and bobs. It arrived rather quickly - only 6 weeks order to delivery from Munich (far faster than the bloody Birmingham-built Mini ).

Just getting to know it - and happy to say it's got a fair bit of 'surprise and delight' going on.

Great choice, so much less predictable than a 5 series. Love the brown leather too.

How long is it though? From the side-profile it looks to be very long!

Lovely interior though, bet it doesn't have quite the same rattles as my 12 year old Pug...

Simply stunning, the new 6 series shape is a massive improvement over the previous generation IMHO. Interior look's a lovely place to be indeed.

I don't normally like BMW interiors but I'm loving that. Very stylish and comfortable looking.

Truely stunning, I'm a big fan of the GC. Very jealous, the interior is as lovely to sit in as it looks (have experienced a coupe version). It seems to manage the class of a Panamera but without the challenging looks. I look forward to the day I can move into one, probably a long way off yet.

PS Minis are built in Cowley, Oxford - not Birmingham.

It's certainly a long thing at 5.007M - sits in between a 5 series and a 7 series (no surprises I suppose,considering it's a 6..!). I guess that's where the leg room (of which there is loads) comes from.

Saw one of these on the road the other day, debadged, lovely looking car. How long is the bonnet though?? From the side profile it appears that you'd be captaining a ship from the helm!

Very very nice. These look so much better in person, those pictures do not do it justice (and that is saying something since it looks very fine indeed in them!)

If I only ever need to transport 4 people, this or the panamera would be my choice pretty much.
