2003 Mercedes CLK270 Completely Facelifted Interior/Exterior

Thought it was about time I posted up some photos of my current project: 2003 Mercedes-Benz W209 CLK270 CDI which I have done the following modifications:

W209 CLK270 CDI with AMG Styling Package

Delivery Date - 11/02/2003


Factory fitted Options:

744 - Brilliant Sliver Metallic


Exterior
249 - Dimming Interior & Exterior mirrors (Drivers side)
486 - Sports Suspension
500 - Folding wing mirrors
772 - AMG Styling Package, Front bumper, Sideskirts, Rear bumper & Lip spoiler
790 - 18" AMG Style III staggered Alloy Wheels

Interior
831A - Leather/Nappa/Semi-Aniline -
830A - Black/Anthracite

Mod 6): Trip to COMAND.co.uk to add a couple of options to my car via STAR, sort out audio issues & to clear the SRS error I had caused when facelifting the dash.

Added:
-Tank content (Gallons)
-Temp display on all screens
-Digital speedo with temp display
-Netherlands Setting*

• This strangely appeared by itself when I reconnected the battery a week before.

Wasnt able to add auto/folding mirrors however as my car is too old

A couple of people have asked me what bulbs I use with my LEDs as I dont have Xenon's.

Mod 10) CLK63 AMG Front bumper, with Carbon Fibre wrap central diffuser - I like to do something slightly unique, as far as I know noone else in the UK has done this :

Mod 15) Headlight Restoration. Ever since I got the car the plastic lenses on have been yellow and scratched.

By using Megirues Headlight Restoration kit I have returned them back to original shininess: (time taken around 1 hour)

What are the ramifications of fitting a backbox for a petrol engine onto your diesel? Is the second set of twin pipes connected?

I reckon I have only spend around £500 on its mods, and I got the car for cheap in the 1st place.

Everything I have removed I have sold on eBay, I got £200 for the old headunit + CD changer alone!

All 4 pipes are real and connected. the 2nd set of pipes are connected infront of the main back box so I get a great sound for a diesel as they have no muffler.

I could have bought a facelift, but my hobby is my car and I enjoy updating it.


The CLK63 Front bumper is extremely rare, with only around 100 models in the UK in the first place, a spare bumper is virtually impossible to get hold of

If it is only circa £500 then fair play I thought the bumper alone would have cost you that!

Very tastefully modified, a set of Xenons and maybe COMAND nav and that would be a perfect commuter
