I bought this car as a bit of an impulse buy after borrowing my fiances dads kit car and got bitten by the bug.
I went and looked at it and it was perfect, so i brought it home the next day.
Its an MK Indy R with a 1998 honda fireblade 919cc engine (around 130-140bhp)
When i first got it it was nigh on exactly how i would have made it myself, Ive done a couple of jobs, I made the rear diffuser myself just to finish off the rear end as it was totally open before.
I'm in the process of making a small boot for the rear too.
It now has a set of compomotives instead of the team dynamics, one set will be used as track wheels but i dont know which yet.

this is after i had ran out of luck/talent, thankfully not too much damage, could have been worse if you look at the next picture.
so close to destroying it!!!
I also had a slight mishap with the engine after bottoming out slightly on a speed bump. The sump is the lowest point of the car, and im assuming hitting the speed bump knocked the plug loose and as I was driving it eventually spun itself loose and dropped out, along with all my engine oil, resulting in a knackered engine
3 days later she had a new engine in just in time for my track day at croft!
since buying it I have throughly enjoyed it, such a fun car to drive on track or roads!
I'm hoping a cheap hayabusa engine comes up for sale sometime
these are the wheels on atm, just received some slicks to go on the TD's

coaster - its quite a bad corner if you hit it 'right' especially for rwd
if you cut in quite tight you get a bit of lift from the bumps, and because the track drops away it adds to that too, and its right at the point where you bang the power back on :P
once it started going i whipped full lock on but it just didnt respond at all! so i was just praying i didnt hit the tyres/hard barrier!
there was an elise had the same happen that day too, but id already wiped out all those water filler barriers so he was ok
i believe they have now continued the steel barrier and tyres right down the pit lane as it would be messy if there was cars waiting to get on track on the pit lane!!
I've also heard the blackbird motors arent all that strong, especially in a car with the oil sloshing all over. unless it had a dry sump in it, which is very pricey!
to be honest, the car is faster than my capabilities at the moment anyway! so i may as well improve my own skills and then think about upping power. otherwise i'll just be relying on power to get me around fast rather than skill

How tiring do you find a bike engined car, as a distance driver?
Quite a few of us have owned a Sevenesque car and enjoyed it as long as it would last.

driving any distance i find fine, on motorways your limited to about 60mph, due to the high ratio'd diff i have, you can go faster obviously but then its just revving its tits off
ive been out for blasts for a whole day in the summer, must be around 5 hours of driving and its fine, only problem i have is my knees ache (theyre buggered anyway) but having to hover my left leg doesnt do it much good as theres nowhere to rest it
ive done a few track days now and all but one has been wet! set of waterproofs on and its fine
thats the reason i keep it road legal rather than track only, just so im guarenteed to be able to use it!
and during my time at home in the summer, it literally becomes my daily!

The engines are so cheap to replace compared to some other types and for bang for buck it takes some beating.
I have the same engine in my sevenesque car and they are so easy to work on. As you said driving for any given period on the road can be tiring but it makes me smile more than any other car I've had.

Update
After making the diffuser for the rear to smooth the air flow out under the car, I thought I had best make an undertray for the engine bay too, this extends out the front slightly to form a splitter
Then I made a little boot for the rear, this covers up the rear end nicely and adds a space for my picnic and odd bits and bobs.
Then I started some maintence work, the front wishbones were stripped off and sent off for powder coating, all the suspension was removed and cleaned up and the hubs and calipers were repainted
There are strips off ally down the sides of the cockpit which i also had powder coated
Then I started a job that I wish i had never started!
The wiring was very messy! so i thought rather than try and tidy it, it would be easier to strip it out and remake the whole loom.
this is the point i regretted my decision!
