Never made a car thread on here before, but here goes!

So I have been driving for 3 years, and ever since I was 13/14 I have wanted a Toyota Supra. Obviously due to insurance, running costs and cost of the car I couldnt get one until I was driving for a few years. In 2011, I passed my test and had a little Corsa C 1.2 which took no end of abuse and saw me through my first year. I learnt a lot about the basics of automobiles and repairing with this car, so I decided another Corsa C was in order for the following year.

1st Car - 2000 Corsa C 1.2 Comfort

I wanted another Corsa, just because they are very cheap to run, and very easy to repair, so I got myself a 2004 Corsa C 1.8 SRi with heated leather seats, cruise control, steering wheel controls etc. I started modifying this car after owning it a few months, ended up with a Dbilas Flowmaster, Dbilas Inlet Mnaifold, Autosprint 256° cam shafts and a 4-2-1 piper exhaust manifold with 2.5" decat system & Meriva VXR 280MM brakes - should of been running around 170HP:

So, after a year of that (sold around June this year)I decided to grow up and get a turbo jap car. I decided to go ahead and buy a 2000 Nissan 200SX S14a pictured here:

Unfortunately, the SR20DET developed a bottom end knock, and it was found the crank needed to be reground etc, so it was cheaper to buy another SR20DET. The new SR20DET then developed a mis fire, and we found that one of the piston rings was shot. I decided enough was enough as the rust and paint condition was causing my OCD to go into overdrive.

So after having no luck with my S14, I decided to sell up and go for my dream car, a Toyota Supra MKIV TT. At first I wasn't keen on thought of it being an automatic (shock horror) however it delivers an amazing drive.

It has the Bigger brake option, and is completely OEM (Apart from speakers and headunit) it even has the emergency flare from Japan. The car was advertised on here, has tons of service history and low mileadge for its age, the car was extremely well looked after by its previous owner, and I absolutely adore it.

Some pics (was a bit dirty mind):

I have already restored the headlights, they are in much better condition that the photo's. It is currently off the road for the winter, as I don't want the grit salt etc ruining its amazing condition, so I have a £300 Astra for the time being smile

The leather seats are getting refurbished, the centre console LED's are also being refreshed. I am purchasing an active spoiler that was an optional extra at the time. I am also trying to source a factory LSD, basically making the car the best it can be using OEM parts and extra's.

Its so smooth and quiet, a league above the S14 that's for sure. Thanks for reading smile

Not really into Japanese stuff but I remember when these came out and have a bit of a soft spot for them. Much better standard than fast n furious spec IMHO. Nice car.

All the best!

Very nice, I love the Mk4 supra and have even considered buying a non turbo one because I just love the look of them.

If there is anything a Supra should not be, it's quiet, but other than that, very nice.

OEM, good call. An immaculate stock one will be worth allot very soon I think. Some nice modded ones on here but they come and go unlike something original.

Thank you very much for the comments guys, I am thinking a Gun Metal grey respray in the future when everything is sorted. The one thing I do not like about this car is the paint!

Thank you smile I spend ALL of my money on my cars, and sometimes have to put a lot of overtime like when the S14 went pop, I dont spend any money on anything else!

What's the automatic like? Have a 350Z at the moment but a supra is always on the one to own list...but as you know the majoritty of them are autos....

I have never driven a manual Supra (would love a 6-speed Getrag) but the auto has certainly amazed me.

What I do like about it is the kickdown. Because of the twin turbo setup, there is no lag and the kick is brutal. For example - If I am cruising at say 45mph, I will be doing around 1100rpm in the 4th overdrive gear, if I floor it and hit the kick down switch(little switch under accelerator) it will kick down 2 gears and pin your head back in the seat, it really is quite brutal- even in stock form.

It does of course have manual override (MANU mode) and you can shift between the gears and disable the overdrive - ideal for the twistys etc.

Also for comfort - there is no jolt when changing gear (when driving normally!) , even being an early nineties car, the ride is amazingly comfortable with the standard Bilstein suspension.

That's good to know, slowly getting pass the idea of having autos in a torquey car like that. Bit like the amg 63s, having all that torque must help I guess.

I know a lot of owners on the forum highly rate them, and a lot have been converted over to auto's!

That's what I thought when it was listed for sale. 20 years effort keeping it original - even has the original Yokohama space saver and tool set! I don't think I want to ruin that. I have already thought about the huge 4" exhaust system etc, but I actually like the silence when driving, but then hearing the engine roar when you want it to biggrin

Why did you plump for a JDM version instead of UK spec?

UK has more power and the bigger brakes as standard.

UK costs 3 times more than JDM versions. Granted they have steel turbo's instead of JDM ceramic turbo's, however when Dyno'd, JDM and UK specs shows very similar performance figures. The JDM versions are 280hp on paper because of the 90's agreement Japanese car manufacturers had.

The brakes on mine are factory fitted and are the same as UK spec brakes. They were just an optional extra at the time.

So jealous OP... That Supra is gorgeous... I have always wanted one but was as well put off the idea of an automatic... you might have just persuaded me into test driving one wink

Thanks again for the comments guys smile

In regards to converting it into a manual - I have given it thought but then I looked at the price of the Getrag along with conversion costs - Its quiet a lot!

With this car, its more about the straight line anyway, I don't often have it round the twisty and its a daily (in spring summer and autumn) so the auto is brilliant.

Very nice, not usually a fan of Jap cars but these were something a bit different/special. Remember them when they came out, can't remember the interior though. Any photos?
