Little bit of car history, excuse the mbile phone pictures.
First off was an E39 528i manual, was a great car and my first go at barge type car. I loved it and decided bigger wafty cars were the way forward for me. Previously i had tried the hot hatch and 2 seat convetible route, which whilst enjoyable i found got more out of a bigger car.
Oxford green with sand beige leather, lovely!
Next i decided to move on to an e60, this time a 530i. Again a lovley car, feel it lost a bit of the E39 magic but still really enjoyed it and the longest i have ever kept a car, 4yrs. Only had a couple of niggles other than consumables. silver grey with grey leather .looking back that was a bland combination and probably not pick that one again.
After this i decided an estate would be a good idea (house renovation) Just so happened my brother was selling his E39 530d tourer. I new it had been looked after and had a recent new turbo so decided a trip back to e39 goodness was the way forward. Gave it a bit of a tidy up, new wheels, replaced some pieces of broken trim. Only issue was a new fuel pump. Had it about 18 months and managed 15k very practical miles, was a great load lugger and i thought it looked great, the design seems to have aged quite well. silver with black leather and aluminium trim.
Finally i have decided to scratch an itch that i have had for a very long time. F01 730d. A friend had recently got one and took me for a spin, i was sold immediately and the search started. Finally found one that was the spec that i wanted and the deal was done. Had it about a week now and so far im living the dream. Just a really lovely car with some nice touches and seems to have a sense of occasion everytime i drive it.
As you can see im a bit of a BM fan, realise they are not everybodies cup of tea, but its a good job we are all different!

Ford puma (nice step up from the Fiat)
Toyota celica (underpowered 1.8, didnt last long)
Civic type R (great car, never missed a beat and got thrashed daily)
Lotus elise (never really got on with this, dont think it lived up to my expectations and always felt a bit fragile)
MX5 (loved this one as well, was a mk1 and cheap as chips, toured France in it, generally abused it, never let me down)

As i said i know they are not to everbodies taste, and i get plenty of ribbing from my mates for being "old" before my time! lol
Mrs stu530 has a mini cooper which is great for some fun driving when im in the mood.

Mrs stu530 has a mini cooper which is great for some fun driving when im in the mood.
The style 32s came with the (e60) car, i had the original order sheet and they were an (expensive) option, never saw another one with them on. Liked the fact that they were not the usual wheels.
Thanks for the comments, the F01 is great, really feels like a special car. I will however always have a soft spot for the e39, such a nice car, very well screwed together and handle much better than it should for a car that size. The m parras on the tourer defo made that car, the original 17s went back on when i sold it and it didnt look half as good. The m parras are for sale at the moment, only a couple of thousnad miles on the tires and freshly powder coated!
