I've owned my 5 for about 6 months, it's a UK car and when I first purchased it was a little worse for wear. I'll keep this nice and short, in the 6 months I've had it it has been treated to, new alloys (eunos ones) new tyres, all oil and fluids, Cambelt and water pump, pads and discs all round, mx5 parts adjustable suspension, nardi steering wheel, few small interior bits and k&n panel filter. Also had a full service, plugs, leads fuel filter etc. Here's a few pics, still lots to do...

Thanks for all the comments. Yes it is the 116bhp one, prob lost a fair few over the years.
Appears to be totally rust free, it was waxoiled a couple of weeks ago, no visible rust underneath, sills and arches all solid, just a few panels looking duller than others, a few appear to have been resprayed over the years. Front and rear bumpers could ideally do with a respray.

I just cant for the life of me buy into the whole black alloys thing .
Never have , never will no matter what they are on.
Cue folk who will post pictures of Porsche , Astons, Lambos etc with black alloys - which if I had the money to buy one , guess what , first thing id change would be the black alloys.
Just my taste.

Patch - lovely 5.
I've just picked up one too, a mk2. Intending to use it for fast road/track use. Can I ask where you got your cambelt kit, water pump, pads and discs from? Mx5 parts have an offer on the discs & pads but the 'EBC Kevlar' or whatever they are pads with them are meant to be awful.
Cheers.

This month the mx has been treated to full laser alignment and waxoiled fully. Next up on the list is a new exhaust, currently looking at the cobalt cat-back, this is due to the positive comments it's received from mx owners on here.
I've got a Cobalt on my 1.8, I'm very impressed with it. Fairly subtle when pootling about, but a real sporty bark when giving it some. Not overly boomy on the motorway either.jkb89 said:

Cheers pal, I went to an mx5 specialist in Ramsey Cambridgeshire, the garage is called total smart. He fitted the Cambelt, alternator belt and water pump for £230 including parts. If you want his details etc let me know, he also did my pads and discs. I've just picked up one too, a mk2. Intending to use it for fast road/track use. I bought one of these during the Moss Europe sale and was impressed as its nowhere near as loud as the MX5 parts one, only downside my Colbalt Badge fell off on the first day =/, Still waiting on a call back if Moss can send me one. P.s. Sounds like a a great car enjoy it

Ditto from me, too. I've seen the occassional car that I like with black alloys, but I can't understand why people want their cars to look like they've got the spare wheels onNever have , never will no matter what they are on.

My only gripe is the uk rear plate plinth - I think it looks horrid and totally spoils the back end of the car. They look far, far better with a JDM one
