Housemate just picked up this little peach of a Bora. We both went to have a look at it and genuinely couldn't find much fault with it, not that we let on about that to the Romanian chappy selling it. MOT till October and Taxed for another few months. £700 all in. Timing belt and water pump changed recently and no advisories on the latest MOT.

Will have some more pics later but for now here she is in her 'Ink Blue' (we think) and Beige Velour interior glory:

Despite saying that it was only a banger before he bought it some modding plans have arisen!

So far the list for parts extends to; some 18" RS4 reps, induction kit for some 'roar' from that mighty 1.6, a little lower (not excessive) and a front black lip - something like this I think:

Won't be any de-badging going on or air suspension happening.

Cheers

Incredibly slow, understeers like mad. But ultimately very comfy and spacious and a good snotter.

I have the 1.4 version.

I love love love a bora, miss mine everyday, it was comfy, reliable and my favorite car ive had.

the valance in that photo if a Bora 4 motion one, they also do a rear one that suits it well.

ukmkivs is a good forum full of nice ones, mainly slammed and bently wheels which is pretty over done.

mine started as a SE, and i added recaros, xenons, a us rub strip, beetle v5 daytona alloys, and a lip spoiler, and added aero wipers and arms from a 2003 model.

ide have another in a heartbeat, a fully loaded v6 4 motion or a 1.8t in the ruby red.

Oddly I've always fancied a PD130 sport. I'll probably buy one when I grow up and buy a house.

Until then the 328i will do hehe

Don't put 18's on a Mk4 Golf or Bora. The rise is abysmal and it'll end up looking like an off-roader unless you make the ride even worse by fitting "uprated" suspension.

I know this from bitter experience.
