Hi all,
Well, at age 33 I have decided to start wearing slippers and smoke a pipe. Not really, but what I did want in my latest car was something that cost no more than £8k, had a premium badge, lots of luxury and economy and would suit my business (I own an organisational change and events management company).
I've always wanted a Jaaag and my preference was for an XF. Unfortunately, budget would not allow me to get one on this occasion and having helped my Dad to buy an S-Type diesel 12 months ago, I knew what good value they were.
So I picked up this thing. It's a 2007 S-Type 2.7D Sport with 56k on the clock and two previous owners - a doctor and then a collector. It has the XS body kit and no chrome trim, which makes it look more "crouching tiger" than "old git", compared with most S-Types. It also has champagne leather with aluminium accents - again, making things look more modern and aggressive and less dated.
It's an amazing drive - silky smooth and quiet but very quick (particularly in the mid range) and excellent handling and surprisingly quick and feel some steering.
What do you reckon folks?

I've had similar thoughts! I never got the criticism of the S, especially the later cars - this one looks great to my eyes (but then I do drive a 23 year old merc).
I just dislike such a car with a rattely diesel under the bonnet.

One of mine was a Sport & the other was an SE. The Sport had a poorer rise than the SE, better than the german competition but less "Jaguar" like.

Take your mondeo in disguise out for run to keep you away from computers or any other means of typing tripe.
You must be pretty miserable to always need to be down on everyone else and their cars.
