Well I hope this thread was enjoyable. It's now gone to a new home and I hope it will be as pampered as it was with me and as enjoyed by it's new keeper. I have copied the original post and will supply it to the new owner so they can continue the thread if they wish.

Thank you. Unfortunately MiMs won't fit as they won't clear the brakes. An 8J 16" one would but then it's all getting extremely close on clearances and the tyre choice available means the rolling radios wouldn't quite work out. I did a lot of pondering on wheels especially OEM options including machining some hubs up to run Sunflowers before deciding the OZ would work. I wish a 17" CSL wheel existed that wasn't made of chinese metal

The headlight is a bit of a giggle but does serve a purpose as an air feed. You can see the filter behind it in the front on pic. The wheels I knew would split opinion, they're a bit of a nod to our F1s as they are the same black and have the same livery. They're also a change I think from the usual BBS/BBS Replica type thing that always gets stuck on E30s.Hate to say but the black wheels and the missing headlight are the only things spoiling it for me, those are details though, stunning car and superb conversion.

I will take a few pictures of the dash etc. when it is next out the garage.
Rust protection wise this car was very rust free. It has only ever had replacement boot corner/floor sections which is a very common failure point on E30s. Everything else is as per original, generally they are pretty rust resistant for a car of this era if the under body protection is kept on top of and they are jacked in the correct places. On this one we have redone a few areas and stone chip guarded everything including the wheel arches. Apart from that it's as per original.
The HIDs are a vast improvement but it's worth noting this car has projector dipped beams and the bulbs sit on a machined spacer to get the aim correct in the light unit. As such they do not dazzle and are height adjustable if required. The increase in light output is well worth the effort.
I drew the caliper brackets up and our machine shop made them, I'm no good on a Mill!!!

I have an E30 with Bosch Euro Smilies and I was contemplating a change to HID as the stock lights are poor.Are your HIDs plug and play, and where did you get them from?
