Well this one will make a change for me after breaking 3 of these over the course of last year this little gem popped up from a local mx5 owner and restorer. It's a 98 mk1 Berkeley the very last of the mk1 with only about 220 left on the road from the 400 that were made. It has a stack full of service history 99% of the work was carried out from a mazda dealer in Cardiff. So some pics of what is needed

That's the 2 small problems one headlight motor not working, the covers around it have been covered in carbon rap so got to fit a pair of standard ones got plenty in the garage and the number plate surround is cracked got one also in the garage so a cheap fix there.

engine and engine bay in pretty good nick the only jobs needed are a new set of ht leads (got a set on a engine in the garage) , small service and will paint the rocker cover and inlet manifold and new cas-o ring and cam cover gasket to go along with it.

Interior in a bit of a mess but all there so just needs putting back together and a good clean o/s seat base has rips in the leather but think I will leave that to the new owner.

The main issues is bad rot on the both rear arches further inspection it has gone down into the inner rear sills there is also a rust patch on the n/s inner front floor. ordered new rear arches of mx5city good quality panels for the price.

Good bits though the boot is in great condition all the carpets are there and not a hint of rust in the boot which is very uncommon most including my daily have some rust especially around the battery.

Hood is also in good nick rear window is cloudy but a got t-cut should bring that up nicely

So a lot of work to do on it already started on it full service including diff and gearbox oil change. Interior is all back together after a raid through my spares stock for a couple of bits. Hopefully this next couple of weeks will start cutting on the rear arches and welding it all back in them painting it hopefully during my week of in april.
This will also be going up for sale come the spring so hopefully someone will pick up a rust free limited edition mx5 which will be a good little car and a good investment for the future with the way mk1 prices are going up.
