Quick review of my new Fiesta ST 180

So, I've been a lurker for a while but thought I'd take the plunge and Give you a little review of my new Fiesta ST.
Ive had the car since november and it's just ticked over to 6, 000 miles. It's a frozen white ST-1 with the style pack as the only option.
Engine: Always feels really strong, has loads of torque in any gear but more than happy to rev out to the red line. Plus it makes a great noise which can have detrimental effects on the....
Economy: Actually pretty good. On a motorway run going at a reasonable speed I can see 42mpg, obviously drops a bit on the backroads when you put your foot down but overall its returning 31mpg.
Ride: It is quite firm. At low speed on a typically bad british road It feels a little bit crashy and underdamped. But its a small price to pay for.....
Handling: Really good. Steering has a nice short ratio and is really direct. Light at lowspeed but never twitchy on the motorway. Loads of front axle grip and always willing to cock an inside rear wheel. The ESP/traction control can cut in quite often when its damp but putting into the sport setting makes it so unobtrusive I rarely turn it off all the way.
Anyway i hope someones found all that at least slightly interesting, but in summary it's a great car, practical, quick and always puts a smile on my face.

Only thing killing it for me is the (lack of) colour, I know the colour options are limited, but still..
Available colours are metallic black, white, metallic orange, blue or red, but with dark grey alloys (assuming you choose the option) and red calipers, you don't want too much "going on" at the same time.Only thing killing it for me is the (lack of) colour, I know the colour options are limited, but still..
I've only seen one ST1 - a blue one at the dealer's when I bought mine - and if it hadn't been sold 30 minutes before, I'd have had that instead of my white one, but I don't regret my choice now.
ETA: metallic (panther) black!

Very nice, love these. Gutted I'm in the process of saving up for my first house but got I've penciled in one of these for late 2015. As above, will follow with interest as to what can be squeezed out of the engine
Give us a shout if you're looking to sell in two years time
Be good to buy off someone who has looked after their pride and joy properly. Will be interesting to see how well they hold their value

I think the red body/callipers contrast well against the grey wheels.

On the motorway its pretty well behaved. At 80 (leptons of course) its fairly quiet, sits at around 3000 rpm and doesnt drone unless youve got your foot hard down. Obviously its not as relaxed as a big diesel but ive done a few multi hour journeys in it and it's really civilised. The big comfy seats help I think!
