20 Months In The Diesel

Afternoon all,
After 3 lovely years in my E46 325Ci Sport, a job change meant company car and for Tax savings, Diesel.
The E46 was my first BMW and I liked the way they were put together and the RWD thing. Sticking with this ethos I went for an F20 118D M Sport. I know the looks divide opinion, and after liking the styling initially [obviously or I wouldn't have picked it] it's definitely grown on me over the nearly 2 years i've had it.
I miss the lovely sound of the M54 climbing in revs, and to be honest all of the interior fittings certainly feel a step backward in quality to touch.
But, [until £££ allow for a weekend car] I do enjoy the relative punch of torque, and the way it sits effortlessly at motorway speeds barely ticking over. Good[ish] brakes, handling, and acceptable acceleration means even a trip to Wales [see below] prove an enjoyable drive along the mountain roads.
Like many before me I swore i'd never go black [weh hey!] but the little Diesel has so far proved an enjoyable proposition.
