Skoda Octavia vRS Hatch

After getting sick of running sheds and a long visit to the garage leaving me without a car for 3 weeks I started contemplating a new car at the end of September last year. I've never owned a car worth much more than 3K as I've I have motorbikes and quite enjoyed running sheds.
I started to look around and a mate has had several lease cars so I started to look at what deals were around what was available. There are ='s and -'s with leasing but the fixed cost trouble free motoring appealed and at the time I couldn't find more bang for my buck than the Octavia vRS although in TDI guise. I looked at petrol but the deals for the oil burner were much better.
I ordered the car on around the 4th October and promised delivery on the 20th December-I joined up to BriSkoda and it became obvious that Skoda were struggling to get these out of the factory quick enough-people were experiencing long delays. I wasn't too concerned as I'd taxed and put my shed though a reasonably expensive MOT. Fast forward to 13th of this month and I eventually took delivery of the car a few hours before going on holiday.
After shedding it's very nice to have a modern, well screwed together car with a few modern toys-well modern to me! Blue tooth connectivity to my phone and a sound system that plays MP3 via an SD card to me is awesome!
I've came from a 220 bhp Vauxhall 3.2 V6 to a 2l TDI with 180 bhp but I'd say the Skoda is quicker. Driving to Manchester airport and back it's more than quick enough point to point and pulls very well. Getting 50 + MPG is also nice even when giving it some- I was getting anywhere from lows 20's to 30 mpg so I'll make a decent fuel saving to come off the monthly payments.
All in all very pleased, it's costing me just shy of 5,800 over 2 years 16k miles over the 2 years. When I last looked the deals were no way near that. On paper nearly 6k sounds allot but it will be nice to have some hopefully trouble free motoring and it's only 2 years if I decide it's not for me.
Couple of crappy phone photos, not had much of a chance for a fiddle with the gadgets etc as only got back off holiday-will post more pics when I give it a good clean. Only thing I don't like about it is it seems to sit very high? it's on 18's but they look smaller. Not seen any others about either yet.

Really like these. Be interested to see how they hold their value over the next 2-3 years as I could be tempted to pick one up at the right price
I'm not 100% but I think with the options to buy my car was 25 odd K. I don't think there are too many deals to be had if buying new rather than on lease but there's no way it will it will only loose 6k in 2 years-the manufacturer no doubt will still be making a profit regardless.What I also forgot to mention is just how practical it is. The rear has plenty of room and the boot is huge. I think the estate is very handsome but a little more expensive and especially when getting on lease terms any extra cost on options etc is paid out by the leaser over the lease period so it can add a bit onto the monthly payments.
