Based on EVO's 2013 COTY-issue, I started looking around for MINI's 2013 GP. Usually not a type of car I'd long after, but my girlfriend needed a replacement for her MiTo, and she was fond of MINI's. Little did she know they made hardcore versions of their funky little car as well.

We've had it since December 2013, and it's proved to be a real hoot. My GF loves it for what it is 'a MINI', I love it for all the things EVO promised it would give. Connection, fabulous suspension and brakes, and glorious oversteer.

It's as much a drivers' car as my CSL or my RS, IMO. It's THAT good.

It proves a cracking car to go snowboarding in as well, I took it to Austria last week. What a blast around the mountains, incredible...

What tyres are you running? I think I'm moving to some more road biased rubber for this year

Currently still the Kumho's, but I'm not so fond of these... If they make Michelin Cups or Pirelli Trofeo's in these sizes, I'd happily switch to either of those.

The Kumho's are pretty cheap, but they seem to last only 5000 miles on the road and offering a very sudden breakaway of traction.

They don't unfortunately frown

I think I'm going with toyos, they're only £90 a corner & I figured if they're so much worse than the khumos (which I actually like!) I haven't wasted much-ill report back what I find

I'd avoid toyo's myself unless your thinking of 888's. On my 380bhp R53 I'm currently running Federal 595rsr which are classed as a track day tyre but seem to wear well and last, the other one I'd consider are Yoko Ado8's

What is better about it than a CS? I drove a CS for a few months and really struggled to get on with it frown

Amonngst many things, it has trick Bilstein dampers, a wider track and wider wheels, 6-pot brakes front, an agressive alignment and a very oversteery balance.

Thanks!

Are you still running the standard tyres? edit (ignore that just read your discussion about the tyres above)

I'll be watching this with interest, I'm planning on this to be my next car in 18 months time. I also plan on removing the same decals you have too, were you able to take them off without destroying them?

Also would it be wrong to do this to it?

sorry for stealing picture, but its the only GP I can find without decals and de chromed.
