Well I finally went down to pick up the TVR from HHC.
Put a deposit on it at the start of march but told him that I won't need it till late march as was in process of buying a house and not even attempted to sell focus.
Was originally wanting a open roof car for our France/Swiss trip in June. Was tempted by a ttrs, rs4 and such like. But as the tvr dealer is pretty local I thought I'd pop in to look at a couple of tamoras... I loved them!
But on the way out I had a quick look at a Tuscan and besides the fact I've never been a huge fan of the Tuscans looks it was much better suited for us. Huge boot, removeable roof but no real worries of roof being vandalised by a jealous t@4ts, loads of leg room and most importantly room for the dog (yes Charlie will be getting in it occasionally)
Anyway the Tuscan he had is was a bit bland but he said he was expecting a Tuscan 2 S in the following week.
He told me the price and colour and I was a bit put off as it was the high end of my budget, and way more that I wanted to spend on a tvr (leaving very little for the repair fund )
A week later I had an email saying it had arrived so decided to go view it. 30mins later I'd put a large deposit on it!
It was TVR's show car for the Tuscan 2s and shown at shows such as the NEC 2004 motorshow. Not sure if this was a good or bad thing but with only 1 owner since TVR and 17000 miles with FSH from the same garage I bought it from I thought it was a relatively safe tvr to buy.
Anyway I have managed to do about 250miles this weekend in it and my ears are still actually ringing. So I'll leave you with some pics from today

Lovely looking thing, my mate had one for a few years. Was it sat on your drive at around 6pm? I wouldn't want to give your location away but I think I live over the back from you & walk the dog past your house every day.

LOH yes I've seen you walk the dog by here a few times.
I'm presuming its nick who your mates with. I remember his well but can't remember what model/mk it was? Will have to have a crack with him when I see him next.

Aye, it was nicky's, not sure what model it was though? I wasn't aware there were different models mind. There were some stories about that car mind you-driving away from Hexham HC after service to be met with a bang & an engine rebuild within 5 miles wasn't its best moment-£12k if I remember correctly I'm presuming its nick who your mates with. Nor the time I took him to the nürburgring & he brought it along, Christ what a laugh-though that was the trip that made him sell it so probably better to say nowt!
I'll tell you one thing though, I've never been around a car (save perhaps the GTR when it first came out) that got quite so much attention than that thing, everyone, without a doubt just absolutely loved it & it really made an event of every trip

The later engines are known to be a bit better, and they really have to be warmed up thoroughly each time there driven and not by idling... I.e. Keep it under 2k until oil is 30 degrees, 3k under 40 degrees, etc and when 70 degrees you can give it hell.
I'm not saying it won't be without problems but it's a risk I thought I'd take. TVR Power do rebuilds circa 7k and give 100'000 mile warranties!!
