Hey! Just joined & this is my first post but I'd like to introduce my first car 
A 1994 1.6 MK1 MX5. Bought on an absolute whim for £750 a few days ago. Saw the ad, decided to go & have a look and ended up coming home with it the same day!
So delighted with it, I can't stop smiling when I see it haha. Seems in pretty good condition for its age apart from the paintwork which was fading in places, nothing that Ultimate Compound can't fix, right?

First two days home:
Today after debadging the back, giving it a good wash, wax & polish and after being attacked with ultimate compound:
Paintwork still isn't perfect by any means but it'll do for now.
Went for my first proper drive in it tonight on my day off to see what it could do, went up Glennifer Braes with a quick stop at car park in the sky before heading back home. Never imagined I could have so much fun in a car, I'm addicted already. Got ideas in my head of what I'd like to do to it in the future, but whether they'll happen or not is a different story.. Shall keep this thread updated.
Such a change from my mum's 1.2 Ibiza I've been driving for the past 8 months. The insurance is a little crazy because I'm 19 but I'll live

Just a quick update, still absolutely loving the car! Think Scotland's having that one week of the year when the weather's glorious so taking full advantage. Roof down at every opportunity. I was on holiday from work for almost two weeks so spent some time changing a few things and generally giving the car some tlc that it deserves
Firstly, got it a new sticker although I've had many questions: "What the hell is a Hakuna Miata?" Hakuna Matata anyone? No?
Decided to get rid of the yellowing ashtray and replace it with some cupholders! Also got some nice red (ignore the orange-ness from the photo) gaiters since the old ones were looking a bit past their best..
Got rid of the stock plate and debadged the front. Googly eyes are purely for show!

I also bought my red mx5 at 19! (well im 20 now). Surprised at how reliable its been so far considering its age, it's made my old corsa look very very bad. Although ive only owned it 7 months so there's plenty of time for something to happen...
Didn't find the insurance too awful, was happy to pay a couple of hundred more for something a bit more interesting.

That's lovely. My old one was G plate Eunos in red. Sad I sold her.
You might want to pop the bonnet up though and bend the rear of the light covers up to match the shut lines when the bonnet is closed. They often get bent down by people leaning on them when doing engine work.
30 second job and would improve the front ( unless the camera is at a funny angle, in which case ignore the above)

Ahh.. Good auld Glennifer Braes..... Spent many a late evening up there and the surrounding 'quite' spots when I was younger 
I used to stay at the bottom in Foxbar, parents still do.
Nice wee mx you have. Keep the googley eyes!
