Hi guys, after 7 years of owning a 1.0L Yaris, I ended up getting a 04 BMW 330ci M sport convertible. It's done 130k and mechanical sound plus exterior is in excellent condition.

After driving my first car a 1.0 for so long it's been epic driving a 3.0. Although MPG seems really low, getting 16mpg now and I'm not even going crazy, it's not as sporty as I thought it would be. The only one negative on the car is the auto shifter. Seems very slow to change and obviously nothing beats a manual.

Interior is okay, but needs some TLC and there are some other stuff that needs sorting out.

Need a new front BMW badge as mine got ripped off after the first week of owning the car.
Need to fix both the wing mirrors, one is completely broken and stuck on with glue and the other has a busted motor.
The heated seats wont turn on. The switch will flash on for a second and turn off, apparently it needs a new buttons or the unit that holds the buttons need changing.

Also I've used Autoglym fabric roof cleaning. Got a lot of the slime and algae out but it's still visible and a green tint on the roof. Any other good products to use?

Also not sure what to do regarding serving. As I'm a new owner I want it to be checked over with, so should I just get it checked with a mechanic or do a BMW type inspection I or II.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Auto box will be why you aren't seeing nice mpg numbers. My old Volvo has a 4 speed slush box and I can get 11 mpg ( as low as the readout will go!!) Just trundling through the yard at work.

Oddly it seems to do much better when you thrash it. Much better cruising on the motorway.

Autobox and convertible will give you 16mpg. I get 19mpg from my manual coupe (2004 also).

Enjoy! I am always a bit jealous when the sun is out smile

Guys, you have got problems with you 330's, I thrash the knackers off mine and it does 25, that's a coupe auto, if I nurse it it will doe about 27/28 , these are combined figures taken off the computer, so probably slightly optimistic.

OP, Google E46 330 throttle reset, try that, in original road tests there was not a massive difference in between the auto and the manual.

Same engine and the autobox in my 2002 530i, never gets as low as 16 mpg. 22ish around town and 35 on a run.

To be fair I have a short daily journey of 5 miles to work and 5 miles back of in town driving. But I think it's due a oil service, just checked the logbook and it last had a oil service and Inspection I done at 127k in 2012, It's been two years and 134k, although the last owner promised that it was serviced but I think he was telling fibs.
