My Mazda 6 sport
Discussion
Hello All,
this is my first actual thread here so I thought I'd start with my motor. its a Mazda 6 sport 2.5 petrol. reason I bought it was I needed something reasonable on petrol as I do 60 miles a day to and from work and I could ship the family around in too. She's a pretty good car, and a reasonable 0.62 time of around 7.8 seconds or something. I don't see many Mazda owners here (apart from MX-5) so thought I'd represent something a little different. the car is pretty standard apart from a change in springs as I felt it was riding a little too high for my liking. I MIGHT change the pipes but thats it. My previous car history isn't great, starting from a Fiat Uno, rover 200, MG ZS, MG ZT-T, Jag X type, after a trip to Oz rover 25, fieta zetec, Hyundai Coupe then this.

Nah, they did the 3 and 6 originally as MPS versions, just didn't bother with a MPS version of the newer 6.
To be fair to them it was pretty much the wrong time to anyway, the 2006-2007 6 MPS hadn't sold that well, there was a new base model so it would be a whole load of work and then there was the whole economic crisis that really put a spanner in the works!
Still would be nice to have a lighter 6 MPS though (the later 6's are much lighter than the old ones).

Decent cars these.
I previously had the 2.2d 185PS Sport - loved it. Went well too.
Was my first Mazda, bought on a whim purely based on Spec and availability, and am now Sold on the brand. Had mine for 90,000 miles from new, never really had any issues with it either.
Swapped it last year for the new (current) 6, but with a 2.0 Petrol (165PS) - again, a good car, but I do miss the pull of the 2.2d admittedly.
