My old man owned this but due to bad health it ended up sitting on the drive for 5 years, managed to buy it from him for a lovely £250!
Gave it a bit of a clean up and got it through the mot with only 1 droplink needed

Wanted to modify it a bit but keep the standard appearance, started with rebuilding the turbo and getting the CHRA modified to fit a 19t wheel, also ported an angled outlet 3" exhaust housing and 11 blade turbine and 11 blade compressor wheel

also ported the compressor housing

while i was there I fitted a later improved exhaust manifold

Then a general tidy up after fitting a 3" throttle body and ported inlet manifold

uprated rs500 intercooler and 3" pipes

3" downpipe

thats where we are today, ongoing project so will have more to come. its running a later 4.4 ecu and goes very well, I have the v70r 302 front brakes fitted now and an 850r clutch to fit, first post so please be nice

Thanks, yeah rods are definately close to the limit, the tune is very progressive and doesn't full boost until 4k so not to put too much load on the rods, its too much boost at low rpms that seem to bend them. I am thinking of getting another block to forge though

I sent it to them just for the machining first then got them to check it over and balance, not sure if it makes any difference but they were new turbine and compressor wheels, never heard of the CHRA needing balancing, just thought it was the moving parts, learnt something although its all together and working well now
