1993 Jaguar XJ40 (4.0Litre Sovereign)
Discussion
Really have no business buying this car.... Sold my Supercharged XJR a few months ago, as i move to Australia in March. I bought a very nice Jaguar S-Type to use as a daily driver.... But it's to good and to new - There is never anything to tinker with or maintain.
So i decided to revert back to 'XJ' ownership and thought i would go old school and look for a nice XJ40.... Had a look at some real dogs (described as 'mint' and so forth) but then i found this old girl.
She is a 1993 car - so benefits from all the final revisions and upgrades that took place throughout the XJ40 production cycle. I bought the car of the 2nd owner, who covered 30,000 of the 57,000 miles, that the car has done. All the electrics work and there is no corrosion. But the car had sat in and outside of the owners storage unit since January (Owner is an elderly gent suffering ill health and can no longer drive) - Needless to say, i have spent a 8 hours, over the last few evenings, getting the car to look as it does now.
