Hi, I'm Ryan. I've lurked on here a little and decided on posting my own (slightly boring) collection of cars in chronological order, here goes.
Apologies for huge images, some of them are old uploads.
First of all, Anika, the Slowda Fellatio:
Old, slow, cheap (just) sub £2k insurance.
I never really modded it, just p****d about a lot in it down country lanes and all sorts - as you do when you're 17/18. It was surprisingly nippy for a 1.3 (all 18 year olds think this with their first car I guess), the handling was hilarious, especially in the wet.
Wider steelies, amber lights, badges, rust, and a sub. Standard stuff.
Although I intended to subtly mod it and maintain it my desire for a new car (not exactly new) took over.
Next up, Sven:
I have always had a love for most unloved cars, especially if they're retro. My automotive taste is terrible to most.
I spotted this on ebay, so I decided to go look it and within a couple of hours it was mine and delivered the next day.
I've loved older Volvo's - especially these 340's/360's.
These were my exact plans in the day:
Lowered - LR Shocks, blocks and springs
Wheels - Maybe Rota Flashbacks?
Amber head lights
Red and orange rear lights
GLT Spoiler
Cherry bomb
Head Unit - On the Skoda
Sub - On the Skoda
4x6 door speakers
6x9 and enclosures - in the post
Naturally, all of my mates took the p**s (probably should have got a financed Corsa
)
In the end I sold it to a bloke in Scotland and made a bit of money - I miss her to this day.
It was in truly stunning condition.
Shortly after, I wrote the Skoda off, via concrete barrier - the readings on the black box must have been horrific.
Ill miss that car.
The pensioner express:
Yes that's right, a Rover 45. It was quicker, more refined, and dare I say more reliable than the Skoda - it took massive amounts of abuse and didn't break down once, in fact it didn't miss a beat. It was quicker than one of my friends newer Astra 1.6, which at the time I thought was an accomplishment.
Mildly rat, with just steelies and yellow lights.
Yoko, or Suzie:
Bought it off an ex teacher who was very genuine and got a bargain - it was little rough around the edges, but it handled amazingly and went like sting down the lanes.
For those that don't know it's a Suzuki Ignis Sport, it actually won SOTW when I put it back up for sale.

All it ever really saw was a "JDM" plaster, wheels, yellow bulbs and a bubble knob.

Phephe (3g Prelude) - the car that received most mixed comments:
People either loved it or hated it - I even got the comment once "it's not very aerodynamic is it".
I ended up selling it for the want of something a bit quicker or more economical. For a 24 year old car it was fairly quick if I'm honest, very refined and everything electrical worked! The number plate suited me down to the ground as I have a habit of being late wherever i go. It sounded awesome too, dual carbs.

I've now been driving for 2 years and I'm on my sixth car. I've recently purchased a low mileage Yaris T-Sport after loving my Ignis so much. So far all I've done is purchase a k&n typhoon kit for it, and I can't see much being done to it. I'd love to lower it on a set of Rota Zero's but I think I'm just going to stick with maintaining it - I plan on getting myself a Prelude BB8 come renewal time and I can't actually wait. Shame it's August.

These Volvos were very under rated...
After having a lift in a red 340 like yours, I was so impressed I bought a 1983 360GLS ( this was in 1988 !) with 40,000 miles on.
I drove that for 5 years, sold it with 115,000 miles on it, and I can say it was one of the best cars I have owned ! It even ran out of water completely on the motorway ( a leaking radiator that I forgot to top up !) on my way to work. The AA man filled it back up again after the engine cooled down ( the gauge was off the top !!), and after I had the rad repaired, put it back in, it was absolutely fine. No after effects at all.
That was of course the old Volvo 2 litre engine, which was extremely strong. It was quite quick on the motorway, but needed a bit of winding up.
The 360s were very well built as well, especially the early ones like mine: the interior fit etc was excellent ( although the later ones were not quite so ).
They were a bit thirsty ( about 28 mpg !) but they handled very well due to the rear transaxle which made the weight more balanced. If I had that car now, I would have put harder springs on the back as it was a bit soft, but then they were not really a 'sporty' car.
I also got all sorts of comments at the time about it being an 'old man's car'...that was until they had a lift in it ! It surprised a few people !
