First car...ish

As I have now acquired my first.. vehicle, I thought I should write a short post about it and see what you guys think!
It is in fact a citroen c15 van! For those who don't know it's a car derived van based on the citroen visa.
I bought 'Bruce' a couple of months ago now for the pricely sum of £300. I hadn't intended on getting a van however this came up cheap and close to me, had mot till March 2015 and a little tax! The Aussie guy I bought it from (hence he is called Bruce) was asking £550 but both me and my dad could hear what only be described as a chirping coming from under the bonnet, and with my dad's knowledge of diesels (it's a 1.9 non turbo unit) he said the cambelt tensioner was on its way out. Using this as a bargaining tool I offered him £300 and he reluctantly agreed to sell.
In our time together so far there's already been a few ups and downs, firstly the driver side cv boot came off, spewing its grease all over the disk and has now saturated the pads (brakes are now sh*t!). A quick run to halfrauds to get some all purpose grease and a jubilee clip and the job was done, no more horrible grinding! More recently with the bouts of rain we have been receiving a leak through the dashboard has sprung up, I can only guess that it's source is the vents in the bonnet, as all the windscreen rubbers are fine! Though if anyone has any advice on this issue then please speak up! It's particularly concerning as when cornering I can hear sloshing from the dashboard so can only assume there is a rather large collection of water in there somewhere! Anyways for the time being I have a tarp over the bonnet/windscreen and tea towels in the footwells, and the problem doesn't seem to be getting any worse!

Here in my work car park with a significantly larger friend, tried to capture the difference in tyre size but it's doesn't come across! He's only on 165 section rubber! Dread to think the width of rubber on the x6!
And finally the birthday cake my talented mother made for me! Pretty good eh!
Sorry if that was a bit of an essay, hope you approve of Bruce! My plans involve getting his issues sorted (booked in Friday for cambelt) and then attempting to make the back a liveable place so come next summer he can take me festivalling and maybe a trip around Europe!
