Not a bad looking thing.
We have the later shape 1.6 auto 5dr, does about 32mpg, so your 30+ for the 1.7 should be do'able. Coupe is far better looking.

Not a bad little car to pootle about in. Comfy seats, which is a bonus. You don't see many about, although I'm not sure what that says about them really.

I used to have a manual many moons ago. Not a quick car by any means, but lightweight Work alloys, good tyres and KW coilovers meant that at least it was reasonable to drive. Not as good to drive as the previous shape EJ coupe (which I replaced with mine), but still alright.

They get a bit of flack, but I always quite liked the way they looked.
