Hi guys,
Thought I'd stick a picture up of the replacement for my Z4; it's a 5.0 XKR with all of the usual options plus the black pack and performance seats.
I only picked it up yesterday but it seems to attract quite a bit of positive attention, had a couple of people over to talk to me about it which is nice.
I wanted something which primarily looked and felt special but struck a good balance between usability and performance, as like it or not, the majority of my driving is not blasting around country roads, plus I have a bike for when I really want to go out for a proper hoon.
I know some people still paint these cars (and Jaguar in general) with the old man image, but I'm still mid 20's and see this car as anything but; I think they look stunning and not a lot comes close for the money IMO.
The interior feels special with the performance seats and the engine is epic; it's relentless! The only negative in my eyes is the infotainment system, which is dated and clunky. It's certainly usable though and the Bowers & Wilkins stereo hooked up to it is very good.
I originally planned to retrofit the performance exhaust from the XKR-S, however I'm not sure I'm going to bother now. The standard system is louder than I remembered from the test drive, it has a fantastic tone and you get just the right amount of pops and bangs on the overrun and downshifts when pressing on. My girlfriend thinks it's actually sounds like a growling cat, and I can see where she's coming from.
The only mods I might make eventually are a smaller supercharger pulley and a remap (which sees over 600bhp), but for now the 510bhp is more than enough.
* UPDATE 10/02/16 - Decided it was about time to update this thread with some newer pictures!*

Congratulations, it looks stunning
I love the wheels. Is the car black or stratus? Hard to tell on my ipad.
I went for silver this time, had two black XKR's and loved them but didn't love the constant cleaning!
I have the performance exhaust on mine which is at times embarrassingly noisy! The performance seats are so much better than the standard ones (I do miss the cooling function though).
Great car, sad that it's no longer in production.

Lovely Get the exhaust mod done though, Spires do a "stage 1" exhaust which is basically the same as the Jaguar Performance Active one, i.e. a new center section without the middle silencers and a cross-pipe instead. Adamesh have a similar thing as well now.
I have a 4.2 XKR with the Spires stage 1, sounds great.

Yeah I was thinking about just going for a custom centre section from a decent custom place if I can't get hold of a genuine item for a decent price.I have a 4.2 XKR with the Spires stage 1, sounds great.

What is rear room like ?
Is it just a token offering in reality for small kids !
It depends who's sat in the front; my girlfriend is 5'2 and if she's in the passenger seat with the seat pulled forward, you could get an adult behind her. I'm about 6' though and you wouldn't even get a small child in comfortably behind me I don't think. So the back seats are pretty much just for storage. Is it just a token offering in reality for small kids !

Thanks
Is there enough room to get a rear facing child seat ? in your opinion
We have a rear-facing seat with ISOFIX base and there's no way it would go in the back of mine. Junior is relegated to mum's car until he's big enough to go in a front-facing seat. Apparently the Britax Duo Plus and Versafix models go in the back of an XKR so I'll be looking for those when he's about big enough to go in.Is there enough room to get a rear facing child seat ? in your opinion
Sorry, I realise you asked for the OP's opinion but I've done a bit of research on this lately and thought my findings might be of some use. I wouldn't let this put you off buying one of these though, you get to enjoy it in peace until your baby is a bit bigger anyway
