S2000 Wow! What a machine!

Won her on eBay for £4K, along with a hard top (doubt I will use it though).
Was a tad worried I was going to get a complete lemon for this price, but no, ditched the cheap tyres for a set of Vredestein's. And a 4 wheel alignment, and all is now spot on.
Wow this is a machine, the gear box is just suburb, I love the power delivery and hitting 9K RPM.
The handling it spot on, just so agile and responsive.
The seats are also soooo comfy and snug! And all the buttons are perfectly positioned,
It has a full Miltek exhaust, that sounds lovely, not too loud, just right.
Wasn't keen on the wheels to start, but growing on me, look better in person than in pics.
My only gripes are, the rear plastic screen is like looking through a bathroom frosted window!
The sound system is seriously awful (my vans is better!)
Apart from that, I'm loving it, don't see what I could have got better for £4K?
Just need to get it on a track and see its real potential.

Nice one - with the hardtop, it looks like you got a bargain!
As above - not only are those wheels a little marmite, but they also look like 18's which are not good for the S2000's handling.
Most owners would advise you to get some OEM 17's (or on a tight budget OEM 16's).
If you think it's good now, a set of OEM wheels will transform the car

Cheers guys, its also only done 86K miles which is pretty low for an 02 model.
Yes i put new tyres on these 18" rims, i think i will burn this set up, then look at some oem rims next year.
Im a little surprised at how expensive the 17" are, looks like around £500 for a decent set of rims, then tyres, so looking at a grand really. And doubt these are really worth a lot?
Since putting the decent tyres on, i haven't found it overly twitchy at all, although i haven't pushed it too hard in the wet!
Just booked a track day at Abington on the 5/12 where i can hopefully open her up a bit, and see what she can do

If you have not owned one before, you may not know about a) the secret compartment between the seat headrests and b) if you removed the air box lid you will unleash a fantastic induction roar under hard acceleration. I replaced the original cone filter with a free flowing K&N cone - the noise was epic even with the standard exhaust! Enjoy

It'll be worth it.... and IMO you're adding the best part of a grand to the resale value of the car.At least that was the man maths that I applied to mine, wasn't far off

Now that is a secret compartment!I have now come across a previous owners cd collection, some side repeaters and two ladies headscarfes!!
Does removing the lid effect performance from less cold air flow? I have actually ordered a K&N cone, as the current one looks like it's seen better days!
I've a feeling, it's just been mildly fettled with!
If you look at the fuse box, you will notice some holes drilled, I think someone had a sound system installed, and removed before selling and not refitted some bits of trim quite right.
The guy who did the geometry for me, said everything was nice and straight, and certainly drives well, so I don't believe it's been in a major smash.
