Been lurking for a while, so finally decided to join! For those who like shiney cars, this isn't for you unfortunately!

2003 Honda Accord Type S
2.4l K24 iVtec

It doess about 80 miles a day, and the last few miles to the office is contry lanes, so it's impossible to keep clean! Don't think many people would have a 2.4 petrol, that barely does 32MPG to do that sort of mileage, but it makes the drive to work fun!

Probably the only photo of it clean.

Most of the time it looks like this:

No major issues in the 40k miles other than:
- Rear ABS sensors both failed
- Suspension bushes (To be expected with mileage)
- Clutch was a little heavy, so replaced (Would have lasted a while as it was)

Looks great and seems to have aged well. Good value for money these days. What's it like to drive? Is the 2.4 quick?

Thanks smile

Drives great considering it's pushing 185k (I got it at 120k a few years ago), engine is still sweet!

Doesn't have a lot of tourque (as with most Honda VTECs!), so needs to be revved. It's a few BHP shy of 200 I think, so as long as you're in the right gear at the right revs, it goes well!

Great cars, i had one identical to yours but silver, not super quick but quick enough and really comfortable. When our first little man came along my missus started using it all the time and after a year somehow talked me into trading it for a bloody derv Qashqai!!! Always thought the Honda needed 18s and lowering a little but the ride was so good did'nt get either for fear of spoiling the car.

Really like these - the pre-FL front end/grill looks so much better than the post-FL version.

We almost bought one of these a few years back but an estate version. At the time I was doing quite a few miles with work so went for a Mondeo ST TDCI instead but part of me still hankered for that shape Accord. Almost bought one at the start of last year too but couldn't find one in the spec I wanted so got a 330I instead... One day maybe!

Wife had a 2.4 Auto Accord until last year - never cracked 30mpg but was as reliable and comfortable as we ever needed which offset the mpg somewhat.

Never felt quick (auto box dulled what performance there might have been) but was a great all rounder. Do they all come in grey?

I went the opposite way with the 330! Originally went to test drive a 330CI, but don't get along so well with Auto's, and then came across the Accord at the same dealer. Although currently mulling over getting a E60 535D

Completely agree about the front - Too much chrome on the facelift!

I think I've seen a blue one! Or it may have been a diesel with the body kit!
