I'm always scooting over the pages of Pistonheads but never joined the forum. Some good gen on on here so I've signed up and thought I'd share some pictures of my motors.
My daily A5
And My Corsa Turbo. Not everyones cup of tea but in all honesty I love it. I've had it 10 years and I'll never sell it. I'm currently restoring it to a standard I've always wanted it to be. But due to working away alot it is taking a while hahaha.
This is from when it was first on the road years ago and got a mag feature.
I've now pulled it apart again for an update.
Fabricated the cage mounts and brace.
Underside buzzed down, cleaned and coated in mastic one2one rust protection.
Pedal box fitment.
Got some bits and everything for the car powdercoated.
Off to the body shop. Roof off to get rid of the sunroof and paint.
And home for build.
I also had a little play on where to put the swirl pot. I’ve decided on here, it just needs the base trimming so it doesn’t hang over the spare wheel well.
Cracking on.
Got started on prepping the dash for a good fit.
Dash went for flocking so I built up the aera behind the dash and pedal box assembaly.
While the dash was away I built some of the underside up.
Got some new fixing nuts for the job.
The shields.
And fitted.
Tank.
Fitted.
Dash back and in.
Engine all built and in. Should be a strong motor.
I was getting carried away with new bits so I fitted the sandwich plate.
I've also started with the wiring. The connection block in the passenger footwell needed a trim and all the wiring had to be made off into one side of the connection block to clear the cage.
Rear lighting loom done and wrapped in tessa tape.
I sprayed the coil bracket and put the coil in and tightened it up.
New reg light.
Fitted my new s
t guards with new clips.
Also offered my new K26 hybrid up to measure and drill the holes in my new carbon heat shield. I just need to put foil tape on the back of the shield and it's all good.

Cheers for the comments guys. I'll keep this up to date from now one seeing as though there is a touch of intrest :-)
Now its all painted you cant see its been repaired. Then new bung fitted spot-on to match the opposite side :-)

Cheers mate.. Yes the shell was a very good base. The only bit of rot was in the rear wheel arch where a bung hole is. I cut that out and replaced it with a piece of cut and shaped steel and drilled out a new hole to keep it looking untouched :-)Keep the updates coming
