Bought a CLK

Ok, I have been looking something to do the daily commute with of 20 miles... was looking at 328 and 528 when a mate of mine said take a look at the CLK's. I had looked at them before, but not with any great interest. Anyway picked this up from ebay for £580 with about 6 months mot and full main dealer Merc history. I absolutely love it, so smooth and got that bit of 90's Merc feel which I love. She is a 99 230 CLK Kompressor, not the best colour but you dont see too many in this red. I will upload some more pics later.

Perfect tool for the job. As much as I love the dynamics of the BMW's, for comfort and luxury there's nothing better for a commute than an older Merc. Looks nice.

Even if it goes up in a puff of spoke tomorrow, for the sake of £580 it's well worth the gamble. I would imagine you could get a decent chunk of that back as spares or repairs anyway if it came to it.

Def need more pics OP but I'm liking your choice. I was looking at early E46 323's etc and these last year but ended up with a Cougar V6 instead. Still like the CLK's though and would like to try one in future. £580 is buttons if it's not rotten too. Suppose though for that money even if it failed MOT spectacularly with the weigh in you'd still be well and truly bargain motoring.

couple more pics, the interior is immaculate. Things that need sorting, I think it has a dodgy oil sensor, oil seems fine but comes on and off occasionally, also there is bit of squeak from the brakes when cold. When cold it can be a bit noisey but not really noticable, at idle its pretty much spot on. Plug and oil change and I can see me keeping her for the foreseeable!

Unless this is rotten with rust, you've done extremely well for £580. Congratulations and happy motoring.

She seems very solid unless there is rust underneath I can't see! So comfortable to waft around in.

With regard to rot is there any reference to it in the advisories in the MoT history? You can check it online.

No advisories on her at all going back I think is 2005/6 online. I think Mercedes may have sorted some of/if any corrosion problems under warranty,need to have a scan through the history again.

£580 for that! What a bargain! I sold a bottom of the range 1.4 golf the same age for roughly double that a few months back. I know which I'd rather be driving around in, and it's got a star on the bonnet! What milage has that done?

My dad had one of these in 2000, can't believe how cheap you got one! Even if it needs a bit of work it's so much car for the money and as already mentioned you'd get more for the car as parts!

Good news. That MoT history check is a good little tool isn't it?

Your purchase sent me of looking at these. One of them that's about twice as much as yours has what looks like bubbling under the chrome door cill cover.

Its done 125,000 but like I had said the interior is spotless, original mats, manuals and first aid kit, dont think anyone has ever sat in the back.
