Mondeo MK3 Estate, 2 years of ownership! - My first PH post

Firstly I should tell you I bought this car back in May 2013 when it wasn't yet even 10 years old. It cost me a small sum of £950!
Full service history and only 115,000 miles.
Nearly 2 years of ownership later, now 136,000 miles and I still love it.
No major problems in the last two years, just general wear and a few minor repairs.
My second MOT booked for this Saturday (17\01\15) and I'm hoping it passes first time again like last year!
I should also mention at the time i bought this I was only 21 years old, I know an estate car at this age some would ask why, but as I said I love it and love the look of the mk3 estate.
I can upload more images shortly if anyone actually wants too see them!
I've had these as company cars and they were really great cars. Far superior to the Mk4.
The reps cars were seeing 40-50k miles a year and back then we were keeping them for 4 years. In a fleet of 20 cars, very little went wrong and they wore their miles well.
The estate looks good too and has lots of space.
£3K buys the best of what's left and as the OP has shown, even 3 figures can get you a decent car.

I had one of these (albeit a hatch) when I was 18, was a seriously good car. Mine was a 1.8 LX but still fantastic. Took me and my mates on many a road trip and gave zero issues in my year of ownership. Yours looks nice, if I was getting another it would probably be a 2.0 estate.

Mines only the 1.8 LX aswell, because it just happened to come up at the time when I was looking to buy, although being the base model it probably helped with my insurance so didn't bother me too much Here was mine:

Your hatchback looks good, I was thinking of selling my estate if it failed it's MOT and buying a hatchback one instead.
But it passed it's MOT again no problems so I think I'll be keeping it for a few more months atleast!
As you said aswell, I reckon once I have sold this I will then miss it quite a lot as it's never let me down

To be honest, it was a fantastic car for an 18 year old. Like the poster above, it took me and my mates on a huge number of essentially pointless road trips and I loved driving it.
I've still got it as my "spare car" even though I have now bought something newer (see below).
Then, when I was 21, I bought this, which is what I still drive today (I'm now just turned 23).
This is also a great car and it still does a fair number of pointless road trips, plus it's used extensively in my job as I have to travel the country.
I know these cars are not everyone's cup of tea, but I like them, and for someone my age they are not too shabby.

Never the less they look like nice cars, especially your newest one. Would love one myself but wouldn't be able to afford one at the moment. Specially like the colour looks great

Well in terms of general insurance costs, yes it was very expensive, but in terms of insurance for 18 year olds generally, it wasn't substantially worse than anything else.Never the less they look like nice cars, especially your newest one. I had been driving a Fiesta for a year by that point and was part way through the second year of the policy when I changed, it went up but not as much as I feared. The blue Mondeo was a 1.8LX so pretty basic. It didn't seem to scare the insurance company as much as a "hot hatch" might.
The white Mondeo is lovely, and whatever people say about them, it's a joy on very long drives (which I have a lot of these days...I'm touching 40,000 miles a year at the moment). I can do five or six hour motorway drives non-stop, with no sore back, legs or arms like I get when driving some other cars.
