17-20 Car history & latest MX5!

Good evening everyone,
About two weeks ago i bought myself an MX5, so though now would be as good a time as ever to run through my car history and put up my latest car.
First Car - ALFA ROMEO 147 1.6 TI
Started my motoring life in style. Was a great little car and at the time i thought i was the man. Driving around in my red Alfa with full leather at 17, while all my mates were in their corsas, it was great! Had some brilliant times in the car, it sounded ok for a little 1.6 and was plenty fast enough for someone who had just passed their test. Also have some brilliant memories in the car, a stand out one being when i picked some girls up at a party, drove all the way to their houses to find out that another girl had bagged a lift in the boot without me even realising! Girls ey...

Second Car - ALFA ROMEO 2.2 LE
As i turned 18 i was in a decent job with 0 outgoings and was car mad, so did the sensible thing and went out and got a loan for a car. (surely we have all been there? or just me...?) Anyway, the car was amazing. I wanted something different, something that everytime you park it up you would walk backwards to keep looking at it. This was it. The drive wasnt brilliant nor was it massively fast, but I loved it. Again had some brilliant times in this car even drove to Paris in it (not very comfy, may I add). However all good things come to an end. After losing my job, the inevevitable happened, I lost the car. Before i bought it everyone told me to not get finance so young, bla bla i never listened. Was a sad day when the car got taken from me! Ah well, you live and you learn...

Third Car - Mazda RX8 192
After the mishap of losing my alfa, I was without a car for a while, and while it got me fit on my bike, I hated it. So i saved up some money and bought myself a new 'sensible' car. Budget of £1500 max, nothing could match the RX8 for looks speed age and equipment (told you reliabilty did not bother me). Picked this up and cost me about £40 to get home from Manchester to Liverpool! However, my love with the 8 did not last long, FOUR DAYS into ownership me, the Mazda and a lampost had a slight disagreement. Car was ever so slightly ruined, sold it on at a brilliant £1000 loss 4 days later!
Fourth Car - BMW E39 520i
Once i'd sold the Mazda for a great loss, I had £400 to find myself a car. Everyone told me to buy a sensible cheap little saxo or alike, so I did the complete opposite
found myself a BMW for sale fairly local for £600. Had my heart set on it, so took a little journey up, after some serious bargaining and a very strange encounter with the seller, I was driving home in my £300 BM! I loved this car, especially the sound of the straight 6 and how comfortable the seats were! Was like wafting around on a 70's couch. However, it wasnt really the most involving drive nor was it the fastest car i'd ever drive, and after a few months i was on the look for something else!
Fifth Car - Toyota MR2 T Bar
After selling the BMW for a profit, I was on the look for a more involving drive. After a few days searching i was the owner of a 1992 MR2. Which i have always loved especially after growing up playing video games it was normally a starter car! Body work was ok, came with a full stainless steel exhaust which was great and of course POP UP HEADLIGHTS. AUtomatically made the car worth £800. Handling was great as well, but when the back end went, it went....luckily no lamposts were around when this happened!
Sixth Car - Mazda RX8 231
Ever since i crashed the RX8 id always wanted another, as i didnt really get to appreciate or get to know the car. So i was always on the look out for one, and eventually one came up. A 231 in grey with all the extras and a rebuilt engine! I had to have it, after much deliberation i managed to swap the MR2 for the RX8 with a little cash his way. Really loved this rx8 and kept it for about 4 months, the sound was brilliant, as was the handling (dont know what happened in my first one), the bose stereo was brilliant too. Only downside of course was the fuel consumption! £20 to do sixty miles just wasnt good especially as my mileage was getting higher daily.
Seventh Car - Mazda MX5 1.8
Managed to sell the RX8 for a profit, which i was proud of, but wanted something better on fuel but still fun. Now coming in to summer i fancied a convertible, so what else other than an MX5! Found a nice standard example down the road from me, in Green (hmm not sure yet), after a bit of haggling i was driving home topless in my £700 MX5! Will take some pics tomorrow of the car and upload them, so far i have lowered the car 45mm ( i know not to everyones taste) and fitted some enkei alloys, plan to keep this one for a while.
