After selling my Focus ST last year and going into an Eunos for a winter runabout, I decided I needed something quick again. Always been a fan of the Mk4 Supra throughout my childhood and getting a good quote on both cars through classic insurance I decided to start looking.

Didn't take me long to find one on the owners club, was originally after a manual facelift but the prices/rarity were a problem so I decided to get a tiptronic auto.

The car I bought was a weekend toy and was in immaculate condition bodywork wise and had full BPU modifications. Lots of money spent on it but visually I wasnt really my taste (some bits are growing on me now though). It was far too low to drive properly and this all got changed in the last few months along with other niggles that needed sorting.

Heres some pictures I took after I picked it up at the weekend and gave it a clean.

Visually it may not be everyone's taste but to say its a 15+ year old car, the shape hasn't aged at all in my eyes and any changes to take it back to stock sideskirts etc. costs a bit.

The kickdown in the auto when pressing on is fantastic and it can easily catch you out especially in the wet. Not had TC off yet but spinning on full throttle is a tyre problem which will be changed immediately.

No real problems, from it been at the specialist, full service, rebuilt coilvers, geometry setup, boost turned up, feels like a different car from a few months ago. Getting it on the rolling road in a few weeks, hopefully see around 400-420 bhp, which is about maximum you can go on stock twins.

Off to the Sunday Service at Silverstone at the weekend, so hopefully can get to as many meets as possible.

Thanks for looking

Lovely car OP. Always loved the Supra, one of my favourite cars ever. Can't believe it's 15 years old though!! Makes me fill old....

Despite the piss taking Piltch, I really like this.

Agree with bumper/sideskirts, not the best but not worth the dosh to change...

What's the interior like? Hopefully not covered in gauges sprouting like warts all over the place?

Gonna be good when we get to meet up and go for a thrash on Sussex's finest roads!

Looks like a nice, clean example. Far from the worst body kit I've seen on a Supra!

I was looking at Supra's but the desire for a manual and they're rarity/cost led me to getting a 350z

Thanks all!

Didnt know there was any piss taking sway!?

The body kit isnt really in your face, the front lip and sideskirts merge with the rest of the car compared to veilside, do luck kits.

Prices for both good manuals and autos are on the rise and decent examples are either really expensive or toys for the summer.

Theres a few plans for it including better tyres, better diff, an aftermarket TC unit due to me losing grip in every gear and maybe a few visual changes.

The auto box isnt that bad and the tiptronic buttons on the wheel take a bit to get used too, i still prefer a manual though

Just going to look after it and sorn it when the winter months come.

I've always loved the MkIV shape, but so many are N/A/Auto/Barry'd or a combination of the three. I think it would be worth the time and money to return this to stock, except for the wheels. I find less is more on these. Get the car sitting right and that's enough to make it pop.

Looking forward to more updates!

Seem to remember back in the early ninties they were about £27500.00 as a new import and a lot more for a GB Car.
They still look good today. Everyone should own one at somepoint in their motoring life.

I agree the shape hasnt aged even with my chavvy kit.

Im from Sheffield, all the roads around here are terrible, not great pictures taken on my street.

Not driven it much since getting it due to the ride height but will hopefully will get spotted more now the works been done

Lovely car, would like one myself.

The exhaust is a bit OTT for me though - looks like it could provide a home for the cast of Watership Down hehe
