I promised myself i'd leave Euro barges and buy some kind of Ozzy V8 (Ford/Holden)..... But then i found this and had a change of plan.

I did buy a Holden for the wife though....

It's only a 6 cyliner car and i need to get the roof painted (the heat here has killed the lacquer). And i want to refurb the wheels - That's why i didn't dress the tyres before i took the pics.

It's an early 1996 car, which means still boidigadable wiring harness (think one needs a 97 onward car, to be completely safe) but EVERYTHING works, including ice cold A/C - viewed the car over a 8 day period so i don't think there is any evap issue.
I checked for all the other typical W140 issues (central locking and window mechanisms etc).

The car had covered 227.000km (141,000 miles) - But pretty much everything here, seems to have done at least 200,000km

Great car! That will outlast you!

What brought you to Australia and where abouts do you live?

Thanks.... I'm in South Australia (Christies Beach) - Only been here since 1st April. We made the move, for a better way of life for ourselves and our children. Wish i'd done it 10 years ago, but wouldn't have achieved a PR visa back then!

I did the same, and bought a W210 E320 about five years ago. In a climate that doesn't promote the rust issues that they suffer in the UK, they are actually a great car.

I'm just down the road at Seaford Meadows. PM me if you want a recommendation on the best place for Mercedes servicing in Adelaide.

Thanks, I will definitely PM you regarding a good specialist or even just a trusty local garage (for the wife's Berlina)... We actually plan to move to Seaford Meadows, looking for a plot, but will rent there in the interim.
